Here in the snowbelt, pickups are often advertised as “never used to plow”. So the first thing you have to do is look for signs that it did have a plow on it, like left over mounting hardware or unevenly worn/weathered body parts where a plow would have been mounted. You should probably check any body on frame truck or SUV around here for it. They do sell plows you can slap on the front of a Jeep, and you don’t want to buy a light duty truck that someone plowed snow with to make money on the side.

Also beware of vehicles advertised as just brought in from the South. If the seller doesn’t have paperwork to prove it came from Texas, then it didn’t come from Texas. Maybe it came from Big Tex’s Auto Salvage in the next town over.
