I was in a Mopar club many years ago. My 318-powered ‘71 Challenger was overshadowed by pretty much every other car, but the people were nice and the car cruises were fun.

Now I’m in the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC). When an event comes along, I decide which bike to take and hit the road. Unfortunately not all of the wee beasties in the stable are in running order (and none would be suitable for a long trip) so I drive and bring the bike along as cargo. This doesn’t diminish the feeling of participation, which is nice. (It would be much more difficult to bring a non-running car to an event.)
