Wrong. This film sucks, but if you watch Hard Boiled and say it sucks you are broken and can’t be helped. It’s not John Woo. Case in point, he directed a film in the early nineties that was terrible while being awesome starring one of the best worst actors in cinematic history: Jean Claude Van Damme. The Hard Target is full of over-the-top action and Lance Henriksen, Arnold Vosloo and the late, great Wilford Brimley chewing scenes with aplomb. The fun never stops and it’s definitely John Woo’s best American film. I challenge your recollection skills to change your mind.

Perhaps I was being overly broad, so here goes: John Woo post Hard Boiled sucks. Or, John Woo sucks in America. Your choice. And, by the way, this suckitude includes Hard Target. Just remember your great/terrible is someone else’s just terrible, even with Henriksen, Van Damme, and Brimley. Also my arguments are objective while yours are merely subjective.
