First car I ever drove was my dad’s rallycar at age 7 while sitting on his lap. 2004 Blear Bear Rally in his 1972 Ford Capri V6. He worked the pedals and my feeble child arms strained against the fat gravel tyred, no power-steering beast to navigate us across the paddock from service to tech inspection. We made quite an impression on the scrutineers when I wiggled my way over the roll cage and out of the driver’s door at teach. I still remember that very well. I miss that car.

The best photo I can find of the car quickly is it being run by the guys who bought it in 2006. Here it is at the 2006 Galway Cavendish Forest Rally just before my dad sold it.
