My wife’s driver’s ed consisted of learning to drive a HMMWV off road in Texas during a training exercise. She had NEVER driven a car before enlisting. Her silly Sergeant dared her to catch air off of a little mound of dirt off the side of the hardball. My wife has never stepped back from a dare, and was looking to proove herself to her team. She hit the mound at about 35 mph.

It was a dead cow. Their Hummer smelled like dead cow for the rest of the exercise.

Flash forward 2 weeks: with her military license, $15, and an eye test, the great state of Texas was more than happy to give her a state drivers license. She hadn’t even driven on an interstate or at any speed over 45 mph.
