I had a 1986 Dodge ES 600 Turbo convertible. Despite the general disdain for this car here on Jalopnik, I loved it.

One day I was driving home from Dallas to Houston when a good-looking girl passed me in her BMW convertible. Her top was down, mine wasn’t. Clearly mine had to go down in order for me to have a shot, right? OK, I know - girls in BMWs don’t go for guys in Dodges. But I was young and thought I knew everything!

What I didn’t know was that if you only slowed down to 20 MPH and then tried to put the top down, the resulting air flow would billow out your top, screw up the frame, and then burst your glass rear window as you were thinking, “It’ll work, all I have to do is keep pressing the Down button”.
