I’m going to eschew the bodily function stories to talk about chocolate milk.

The rear seat in the Kia Soul, much like many cars, sits on top of the gas tank on a large flat metal shelf. This makes an excellent collection area for any liquids spilled onto the back seat.

At some point this winter, our son spilled chocolate milk onto the back seat of my wife’s Kia Soul where it sat slowly fermenting until it got warm. The warm spring weather caused this mold to bloom and emit a smell that I thought I could see. You’d already know this if you followed me on kinja.

You can see all the mold on the bottom of the seat here.

The brown on the foam is chocolate milk and the white on the black fabric is mold. Much bleach and elbow grease was required to eliminate this odious intrusion into my wife’s Soul.
