Hey its cool but you know what this show needs more of?

    Kite-Man

For real though, all the side characters on this show are amazing. I usually scoff when people are like “so and so need a spin off” but they really do here. Id love to see an Office like show with Bane and the rest of the Legion of Doom.

Hell, I want to see more Aquaman, it was the perfect send-up of that character!

Let me enjoy Kite Man and Ivy’s babe title to each other just one more season. Also Bane is a low key hit on this show. Every scene he is in, is amazing.

Kite Man, Bane, and Clayface are all amazing standouts, in a show that is bursting with interesting takes on characters we’ve seen a million times. Straight up my favourite versions of Harley and Ivy too.

While his reasons SOUND good, and taking their time is a good move, the fact remains that DC has been going “No Homo!!” with Harley and Ivy recently:

I don’t know why, but it seems someone at DC has a problem with Harley+Ivy.

I agree. DC’s had a lot of issues with that.

On the other hand, his statement does make it clear that the two are meant to be a loving couple in his eyes at the very least. Granted that also sparks flashbacks to what happened with Batwoman but... at least the show-runner knows whats up.

It’s not with Harley+Ivy, but Harley/Ivy. As someone who’s a bit of a sucker for plus shipping (due to its rarity), I have to point out the distinction.

Boy I can’t wait until the conservatives who for some reason love Batman (a billionaire literally spending his wealth in service of his city, with no personal recognition for doing so) to catch wind of this.

“the conservatives who for some reason love Batman (a billionaire literally spending his wealth in service of his city, with no personal recognition for doing so)“

That’s not how conservatives see Batman though. For them, Batman is a self-made Alpha Male who takes justice in his own hands and does what must be done, namely get rid of criminals that the ineffectual “nanny state” cannot protect you from.

And yes, I recognize that Bruce is not self-made (he inherited his wealth), nor does he “get rid of“ (i.e. kills) criminals. And that he hates guns. But they don’t. If you wanna know what the Americam right-wing think Batman is, watch the new Michael Bay movie, 6 undergeound.

A guy that uses his wealth to fund a “tough on crime” war against the mentally ill and low-income citizens sounds like a conservative wet dream to me.

Even Bruce Wayne’s philanthropy work can be spun as a job creator doing a better job using his wealth to help people than the government.

You should. It’s easily another testament to DC’s dominance in animation.

Yeah, I like that they’re treating Ivy as more than just arm candy for Harley. Whatever relationship they wind up with needs to be something they’re both looking for.

Kite Man might not be ready for the Hallmark Channel, but he’s trying and learning. And, to be honest, Ivy was the one being the bad actor in that relationship at first.

If the ultimate intent in a season or two is for Harley and Ivy to get together, I’m all for it. But I wouldn’t mind seeing the Ivy - Kite Man relationship go on a bit longer.

And it would be doubly refreshing if, once Harley and Ivy catch feelings for one another, Kite Man is mature about it an steps aside (after suggesting a threesome of course, because Hell Yeah!).

I’m going to be honest: I prefer Ivy with Kite Man. It’s one of those relationships that is so goofy that it becomes very sweet in earnest.

Honestly if you have to ask the question of why these two aren’t together in season one, you obviously haven’t been watching the show. This first season has been all about relationships (love, friendships, and even co-workers) and how some can be toxic and change you and lead to you passing that on, and how some can help you and heal you.

To have Harley just jump into a relationship with Ivy (and vice versa) wouldn’t fit in with the story that was taking place, and would totally have just been the male fantasy of two hot women getting together just because.

And that’s why this show is so impressive.

Honestly, I don’t care if Ivy & Harley ever get together (I think Kite-Man is being a decent boyfriend so far!), but I definitely want to know more about Ivy & Frank’s backstory.

I wish more shows put this kind of thought into their world building and character relationships. This is the exact right take to have, yes people rush headlong into other relationships but to really do these characters justice, to let their arc end in a healthy manner giving them time is the absolute right way to go. I have to say Harley Quinn was a much more thoughtful show than I expected it to be and is easily one of my favourite interpretations of comic characters.
