    Oh, that’s disappointing. I thought it was going to be a live performance of the stage musical where they all go around on roller skates to look like they’re moving through the water. XD

    They did another “play the movie with live songs” version of this at the Hollywood Bowl a few years ago. Sara Bareilles was Ariel, Rebel Wilson was Ursula, and I’m pretty sure Stamos did the Le Poisson song for that one too.

    I prefer to think of this story as the Disneyfied, thinly veiled backstory for Lovecraft’s The Shadow Over Innsmouth. We’re finally getting the love story of Obed Marsh and his Deep One bride. Sure, Disney cleaned it up a bit, but at its heart, it’s still about sex with a mermaid.
