as a how do you recover from that? how do you go on living when your kid is gone?

I often think about what I would do, and I just can’t wrap my head around the idea of living without that part of my soul still here.

      From what I’ve seen?

      Jesus, heroin, or suicide.

“Dad” has burns to 70% of his body. That has to be close to the lethal limit for skin loss. https://nypost.com/2019/05/07/dad-accused-of-letting-daughter-burn-alive-was-also-badly-scorched/

It would not surprise me if he dies and is never charged, but it’s probably at least a year before he could possibly recover enough to leave the hospital.

Talk about an ethical strain on the doctors and nurses for this guy.

I’m sure he’ll get to see a lot more flames after he dies. I’m sure Satan has a pit already and cooking for him. Good.

While I wholeheartedly believe the worst of humanity still deserve a proper legal representation when they go to court. I know it sure as hell couldn’t be me on the case. If he somehow manages to survives the hospitalization, I can’t even imagine how the potential public defender would feel after getting assigned this case.

I never understand the pivot from “I love this kid so hard, I’mma fight you all day and all night in court! #notwithoutmychild”

    to

“I’m settin’ this whole kid on fire. Fuck it.”

    Someone explain...

It has nothing to do with the child. The lengthy court battles are designed to control their ex’s time and money. Dad fights for court-ordered visitation so he has leverage over his ex, Mom knowing that he can hurt their child however he wants when they’re with Dad if she upsets him. By setting up the story of “woe is me, my evil ex keeps my beloved baby away from me and it’s driving me insane with grief” before deciding to kill their kid, Dad knows that other people will blame Mom and Mom will also blame herself for her child’s death. The ultimate “look what happens when you deny me control” abusive power move, similar to abusive partners committing suicide in front of their victims.

It isn’t about the kid, ever. It’s about his loss of control over the woman, and this was the worst thing he could do to her.

What the fuck is wrong with people!? How can your life be such garbage and in the kind of disarray that you think killing a child you are designated to care for is a good fucking idea?!

Right now, I just want to curl up in some blankets with my daughter and cry for the future she's heading into. I'm so disgusted with humanity...

It wasn’t about his child...it was about hurting his ex.

He murdered his child to hurt the person whom loved her the most. The old saying is...if you really want to hurt somebody hurt who they love.

It’s amazing how much society tolerates men murdering people. This dude killed a child - his own child - and his fucking co-worker is just like “yeah well he was stressed because his bitch of an ex-wife wanted custody.” The cops saw him running, on fire, from a car that was clearly set on fire, and they’re like “yeah we’re not gonna arrest him.” 200% certain this woman warned the judge and everyone who would listen that this man was violent and she was worried for her safety and her daughter’s safety and got ignored then, just as his actions are ignored now he’s already committed them.

“There was a lot of stress building up in him,” a former co-worker, Angel Rivera, told the Times of Pereira, saying that Pereira had been distraught and complained he was only going to see his daughter every two weeks.

So his answer was for no one to ever see her again?

Actually, no one explain it to me.

    Just...

    Fuck it.

He probably meant to kill himself along with the kid too. It sounds like he was trying to gas them “painlessly” and he was such a fuck up he ignited the whole thing. Then he ran like frightened rabbit to try and save his own ass. Sadly that sort of murder/suicide crap is all to common with jilted men. Just another example of toxic fragile masculinity.

I see this motherfucker ran to put his own fire out. Fucking figures. Not only did he murder his child but he made sure to do it in as horrific a manner as possible. This wasn’t about the child or his being able to parent (which he clearly gave no fucks about) but about getting back at his ex. I hope he makes a very painful recovery so he can live long enough to get his ass beat in jail.

There needs to be a special place in hell for this judge too because I would not be surprised if he was warned by the child’s mother that this man had no business being left alone with the child and he probably abused her too and the judge couldn’t be arsed to take her complaints seriously.

The judge has blood on their hands. There have been so many cases of judges forcing women to give their child to an abusive ex or face jail time despite the women telling the judge the man is violent, and then the kid is murdered by the violent ex.

However, friends, family members and the child’s mother told reporters that she and Pereira had been in an ugly custody battle over Zoey.

The cops just need to throw him in jail, tell the other prisoners what he did, and ignore the screams.
