I just said to someone that we as a society have regressed 70 years. The very man that lived and fought in those times tells me that today is worse?

Is there anything else you need to become aware just how much trouble this society is at this very moment?  Here is your wake up call.

Trump already tweeted that he lost two years of his presidency and that he is due overtime. Let that sink in. Note what this could mean if Dem candidate manages to defeat him. Also note over 90% of Republicans support him despite his cruelty, racism, malice and rank incompetence.

Lewis sees it and no one is doing anything of real import about it. The rollbacks for black will continue until we will have nothing left.

      Not “despite.” Because of.

This country has to decide what it wants to be. Are we going to be a country of equality and justice and opportunity, or are we going to be a fascist authoritarian racist state?

The internet has brought out the best of us and the worst of us. While many of us were out making memes and joking and finding knowledge that’s been brought to the light through networking and social media, those deeper, darker, shittier people managed to find each other, and used that to launch an attack on everyone else.

To say they caught us slipping would be an understatement. I wasn’t surprised to see what happened, honestly, because even in 2008 I told my friends after the election, “Barack Obama could well be a transformative President, but the backlash to having our first black President is going to be severe.”

That said, the real question is what comes next. We’ve seen the face of evil, and we’ve seen what white privilege will put in the white house as perhaps one of its last, best gasps. The question is, are we willing to take the hard road to get past it and open ourselves to the more equitable society, or are we going to take the easy path, and turn away in hopes that this problem will go away or correct itself?

I mean, I know what path I’m taking. I expect the next year and a half to be the most difficult of my life (quit my job, about to go on an enormous personal quest), but the real question is what will the rest of the country do when they get to the privacy of the voting booth?

If a man who has seen the worst that this country has to offer and survived is devoid of hope what does that tell you? Not that any of the MAGA chuds or Bernie Bros, who booed this man at the Democratic Convention in 2016, give a shit. The mid terms gave me a brief hope that we can beat back this collection of filth but I have no doubt that 2020 will be the ugliest campaign I have lived through. Granted I was only eligible to vote for the first time in 1992 but this feels different. I am more scared for what this unhinged prick will do if he loses than if he wins. To all black folks no bullshitting get your ass up and vote.

It tells you a guy who was brave half a century ago and has gotten wealthy while his people have gotten poorer...is up for re-election.

      That’s what it tells you.

      Dear Troll:

Taking your pitiful, sorry, gutless ass out of the grey’s is what you want so I’ll oblige. John Lewis has more courage and conviction in one of his toes than the lot of you MAGA turds all put together. When John Lewis passes it will be a national day of mourning. When Trump, McConnell, Graham and the rest of The GOP scum kick the bucket there will be enough dry eyes to make the Sahara look like Pacific Ocean. Oh can you name me one thing any of those piece of shit have done to make the world better? Well when they die they will have.
