Thanks for posting this. Ilhan Omar is the most courageous member of Congress and she doesn’t get nearly as much support and respect as she deserves. Seeing all these incredible women rallying for her made my day.

Ilhan is not courageous, she’s an Islamist.

As a Muslim, I’d like to educate you on a few things Muslim Americans who are not Islamists know for a fact:

Neither Ilhan Omar nor Rashida Tlaib represent the Muslim religion. They are ignorant and anti-Semetic. The distorted Islamist vision of Islam they project gives people a false perspective of what Islam is and what is stands for.

Omar & Tlaib denounce prejudice against Muslims, but their aberrant views on Islam fuel prejudice against me and my coreligionists by distorting who we are while defaming and dishonoring the great monotheism of Islam.

Omar in particular is ignorant of history:

She claims, “CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”

CAIR was founded in 1994. After another Islamist - The Blind Shiek - attempted and failed to blow up the World Trade Center a few months earlier.

Her grotesque trivialization of a national tragedy amounts to an explicit denial of 9/11 – a desecration of all the lives erased that awful day (including those of many Muslims and Jews). This denial is inexplicable unless she has strong and covert Islamist sympathies.

Omar has laughably claimed, on Easter that Jesus was Palestinian - a nation that has never existed but was rather a region designated with this name by the Romans. She has alos supported the ridiculous “reminder” that Jesus was an illegal alien. All of Egypt, Bethlehem, Nazarene, etc. everywhere that Mary, Joseph and Jesus traveled was the Roman Empire. His parents came to take part in a census called for at that time.

The greatest obscenity in the lie that Omar pedals is that she – along with millions of other Muslims in America – is somehow victimized.

But in fact, Muslims have not experienced a contraction of civil rights in the U.S. since the Sept. 11 attacks. We continue to have the same rights as all other Americans.

Rather than being second-class citizens, Muslims born in America and immigrating here legally have full citizenship open to us. We are all allowed to both be and feel fully American and recognized as such, unlike the way many Muslims tell me they feel in European nations.

Muslims in America are mainstream and most are middle-class. Some of us are even wealthy. Many of us are highly educated, upwardly mobile and among the fastest immigrants to climb the economic ladder and earn six-figure incomes. This is in stark contrast to Muslims in Europe, where Muslims are much less affluent than the general population.

So, if you want to support these two extremist traitors to Islam, you do so in ignorance to the truth - or worse.

No one gives a fuck and it doesn’t matter.  They will never have power.

Thanks for posting this story, but why did it appear in the middle of the night? You’d think that a gathering of such high-profile black female activists & warriors in support of one of their own would deserve better treatment at TheRoot. What’s up with that? I know we certainly have brave and bold black women at theRoot too,  so what happened? I’m disappointed. Ilhan Omar deserves better. We all deserve better.

If I had to choose, in a time of extreme personal danger, for one person to stand beside me, I would choose IIhan Omar. The very last person i would choose would be Trump or any of his deranged, fat, white racists.

You might want to rethink your plan.  Omar is small, and wouldn’t provide much in the way of cover.  A fatass like Trump provides a whole lot more to hide behind, and if it’s cold, you could always slice him open and hide inside him like a tauntaun.

No, it’s because she’s black and calls out white people with power, like those who run AIPAC, unlike other black women, like Kamala, who kiss up to them.

I do not think in our great country that any of our representatives should receive death threats.  I do think that there are many representatives that should be voted out of office on the Democratic side as quickly as possible.

Nina Turner must have gotten her invite before she threw sisters under the bus in defense of her Uncle Bernie.
