Rom coms are not usually a thing I watch but I will give it look based on your article and Gina Rodriguez.

I do have one question, 9 years as boyfriend and girlfriend, what were they waiting or holding out for....something better to come along?

They started dating in college presumably pretty early on in college - so 9 years from that perspective isn’t that long.

I’ve been with my girlfriend for nine years. We’re not waiting for anything, but we don’t want to get married. We’re just going to stay as we are. Not everyone needs to codify their relationship.

I would have rather had a Brooklyn 9-9 episode about the breakup between Gina Rodriguez and Stephanie Beatriz’s characters

I’m still hoping she might come back and the two of them reconcile.

I've never been on a breakup (only realisations that my love was one sided) and even then this hurts, I knew where the fantasies come from, I cried so much. Why does love hurt so much.

Liked this movie more than I thought it would. Apart from Jenny’s rushed recuperation, it’s a good portrayal of the post-relationship blues and how it affects friends as well. It was also nice to see Erin and Blair, the romcom sidekicks, get some fleshed out time for themselves in dealing with their own love lives.

I’m keen on a few of the music choices in the film (particularly, the indie and dance stuff, but there’s also hip-hop and rap tunes that the trio of friends have fun with). Lorde, Robyn, Mitski, Vampire Weekend - good choices.

Outkast and Frank Ocean (and the Selena singalong of course) were great choices too!

Frank Ocean’s song at the end was beautiful, like a nice capper to the film.

This movie was a hell of an enjoyable watch. Gina Rodriguez continues to be truly fantastic.
