I’ve never understood why something that’s totally legal to do for free is illegal to get paid for.

Because the government can’t find a way to get their cut. It was the same way with weed recently. Used to be soo bad,but once they found a way to tax it, BOOM! Legal in a ton more places than before.

He looks like he has used a prostitute or 10 or 50.................

Seriously though, more power to sex workers. I am all for it. Legalize it and protect them.

Yes, but protecting them means making sex work a real choice and not a last resort to stave off hunger in an unfair economy nor feed a drug habit because treatment isn’t available. Giving people with no other options the “choice” of sex work isn’t right.

I’m not sure what to make of the responses here.
Why not decriminalize the oldest profession in the world? It’s not going anywhere.

It’s good money (mostly tax-free) for a lot of people. Students, parents, people who want to make a quick couple hundred dollars in an three-hour shift (this is my own experience).

And why are the johns no criminalized? They’re the ones who have the money in these situations. If prostitution was decriminalized, but solicitation was not, there’d be a whole lot more money to be had.

No there wouldn’t it just makes it more dangerous for the prostitutes.

I was expecting worse in the article since it looked like you went with the “we don’t like this person” header image / freeze frame reserved for the likes of President [orange sack of dogshit gathered from a burnt out garbage fire], Candace “Pretty Sure Tammy Faye Get Out’d Her” Owens, and Interchangeable chinless “are probably actually just really giant thumb” racists.

... but then I looked him up on Getty Images... and yeah, they don’t give you much to work with.

Legalize, tax and regulate. Everyone wins: state gets revenue, sex workers get protection & rights, and it helps mitigate human sex trafficking.
