    Remember rotobrush? The AE tool that no ones work computer was powerful enough to effectively use. I usually ended up just roto-ing by hand because it was faster than fixing the mistakes. Or to get past the frame-rate sensitivities the tool was vulnerable to.

    This looks like a huge CPU suck that would be dependant on the footage being “perfect” to be fixed; but give it 5 years of development, Moores law, and the advent of fiber networks pushing image processing into the cloud for the real-time adventures to begin.

      If you aren’t confirming what you see online by looking for a second independent source, you’re doing it wrong. It used to be that journalists did that step of the news gathering process for us. Now they don't (for the most part).

      it’s a common misconception that the photo was edited. in reality it was a series of photos and the middle was lost for decades.

    After effects is just Photoshop for video. I work with both all the time and AE basically has Photoshop built into it.
