  It’s important to note that these murderers are white.
  Dude deliberately pointed to “white identity” in his horrific screed or manifesto or whatever he’s calling it - but one of the barely visible tenets that makes this whole plan work is treating “white race” as a default (it’s not) or as “ought to be dominant” (it shouldn’t be, and in an actual meritocracy - which the recent #CollegeAdmissionsScandal is the most recent proof that we don’t have - it wouldn’t be).
  But we can no longer lean back on sloppy thinking or “it makes me uncomfortable” and refuse to identify who these people are.

I don’t expect the media to their jobs and point out that the current occupant of the Oval Office was and has been the inspiration for not some but all the violence carried out in places of worship and on the streets of not just The United States. No they will blame anyone or anything rather than look in the fucking mirror and admit that the unlimited exposure they gave this toxic piece of shit in 2016 has led us to this point in time. Michelle Wolf hit it right on the head during last year’s WHCA when she correctly blamed the media for Trump’s rise. The fact that they continue to grade his ass on a curve is part of the fucking problem, being empathetic isn’t something that should be seen as amazing. Showing compassion and concern during tragic moments like this is part of the job, got it Van Jones. This upcoming election is the single most important event of many of our lives. I don’t want to hear another black person say we’ve survived worse. Really? When? For real this asshole has surrounded himself with people that would wipe out any non white Heterosexual or LGTBQ person on this planet if they could. Wake up people, this is a fight and we need to do whatever it takes to get this fucker out of office.

  This framing is extremely offbase and disingenuous. Idk about that “& Co.” part there, but Shapiro has a policy to NEVER share the messages of monsters like this because that is LITERALLY why the monsters do this shit. They want to get famous with their crime and spread their hate filled word.
  
  The other HUGE reason you don’t show faces or make these people famous is because it shows future assholes that this is indeed a “viable” way to get your face and word out around the world. Do you understand? If we keep making these people famous, we keep creating MORE reasons for future murderers to do the same thing.
  
  You can report on this stuff without giving the name, face, and manifesto. You can still say, “This was a white surpremecist killing as a hate crime against Muslims.” Or something like that.

  More to it, usually nobody white will see that face. POC know that face, because POC are all too often the victims of the hatred of killers like that. But nobody else usually sees that face except the prosecutors (and usually none of them are of color either, because the FBI and CIA and other federal branches practice the “polite” kind of white nationalism that Ross Douthat espouses, which is why they don’t profile these guys often enough to stop them and as a result why they miss facts ... which is one of the reasons this keeps happening, but which level of deep denial in “polite society” only helps the perpetrators).
  So even though that face is the worst, I think Stephen puts it up in part to help understand people who are steeped in “not MY Nigel”-type denial exactly what it looks like.
