Officials allowed McCoy’s family to watch the video on Wednesday but would not grant access to the family’s attorney, the public or the media.

Now that is incredibly cruel and typical of our “boys” in blue!

Where’s the fun in murdering someone, if you can’t rub their family’s faces in it afterwards? Disgusting.

I’m surprised* they can deny their attorney access..

*not really “surprised” but more of “that sounds illegal” (which is par for the course I guess)

Had the tables been turned - and Willie murdered a cop in cold blood (because, let’s be honest, that’s what these cops did - MURDER this kid in cold blood) - the body cam footage would have been released immediately.

Given that cops are civil/public servants (LOLOLOLOLOL I know, but technically, they are), this footage should never be kept under wraps. They murdered someone while on duty. If they don’t want to have videos of their crimes shared with the public, commit them on their own damn time.

Throw all these assholes under the prison. Or better yet - put them all in separate gen pop units.

The Vallejo PD are notoriously abusive and murderous. Notorious. Everyone in the Bay Area knows this and it has been this way for years.
They are corrupt and murderous. The difference this time is that it has made national news.
The whole city is like this. The school district ran the schools into the ground and they had to be taken over by the state. The city government constantly runs the city into the ground and constantly does shady business. The community has organized and protested for years, but the corruption of Vallejo is deep and connected. All the entities protect one another: the city, the police, the schools... all of them.
When the military shut down Mare Island and abandoned it the city went broke. Businesses closed down and housing sat empty. Then the clean up on the island is costing so much. When I was growing up and Mare Island was an active base Vallejo was a busy city, when it shut down the city just shuttered. It was really sad, the whole downtown looked like the apocalypse. It’s slowly reopening but it’s still falling apart.
The whole damn city power structure needs to be toppled and taken over. Everyone at the top needs to go. This is a really sad example of the deadly corruption in Vallejo.

Shooting 25 times on a sleeping man is apparently ‘justified’...That’s called indefensible murder and overkill.

Everything about this story but 25 TIMES! That these monsters just kept standing there pulling their triggers that many times...

Sadly when one goes ‘bang’ the rest get ‘triggered.’

I don’t know why cops aren’t trained to have a ‘designated shooter’ instead of having a half-dozen empty their clips in self-reinforcing panic.

Why in the ever-loving hell would they not release the footage to legal counsel... Oh, right.  Hold that thin blue line, you racist assholes.

Ok.... so he had a gun, with said gun was in his lap, & he was asleep... when awoken by some unknown(to him) individual(s)... yelling at him.... wouldn’t you kinda expect the person to move the gun so that, you know, it didn’t fall off their lap onto the floor accidentally discharging(even if unloaded, ‘cause you can’t be too careful with those deadly things) toward someone??

    ugh

It is worth bearing in mind, too, that a gun without a magazine in it may still have a round in the chamber.  The magazine not being in the gun is not the same as it being unloaded.

Murder. The family is describing murder. I hope the footage is made public so that the officers involved will have no way to hide.

Incredible foresight on the part of the cops to have a jury and nine peers on hand before they executed this guy for committing that most heinous of capital crimes, SLUMPING OVER IN YOUR CAR* (*while being black).

I know there hasn’t been any mention of this judge and nine peers anywhere, but based on even a cursory glance at the “code” of “law”, I’m just assuming that there had to have been, right?

    ...Right?

And I know the issue couldn’t have been the gun he had, because the Second Amendment, right?

    Fucking disgusting.
