    Just a reminder that during all this the percentage of whites stopped hovered between 9% to 12% while black people were over 50% of those stopped. This is still an insanely biased problem and will not go away without drastic changes.

    Stop & Frisk was created as pretext to stop and arrest young black and latino men. That’s was always it’s purpose. And this not me saying so. This is straight from the mouth of the beast itself.

      Exactly. For a start, they have to put a stop to the arrest quotas that absolutely do not exist.

      Arrest quotas are insane. You are saying no matter what the Police do to minimise crime (and there are plenty of things they can do) they still have to arrest certain numbers. Why would it ever behove a Police Officer or Captain to put the effort into lower crime rates if doing so will make them look bad at their jobs?

      It sounds like a stupid comparison but my work place has a quota for IT calls. Each IT tech needs a certain level, that means what happens is they race for the easy issues that they can fix quickly, no matter the business need.

      The same for housing repairs, guys weren’t taking the difficult cases that could take all day, because if they don’t get to 4 jobs they don’t get their bonus.

      Quotas on many things create negative results that weren’t expected.
