I love Stacey, I think she’s in the same spot as Beto they have bright futures ahead of them, but where we need them is in the Senate.

On the pro-Stacey side, she could tap into some of those 90 million voters who did not vote in 2016. Or she could end up cannibalizing progressive votes and not catching much air.

And she’s only 46, so she could stay in the Senate the next 60 years. Presidents are short-timers.

I love Abrams, but she’s a little late. My cat and my neighbor both announced they were running last week.  My own announcement was the week before that.

Lol, gave you a star for the joke but realistically speaking its still pretty early. Our election cycle lasts forever (for real, its WAY too long) and its just starting, so she could still get in if she wanted.

In some other countries, election season is legally mandated. Can you imagine how awesome it would be if we only had to deal with this shit for a few months instead of two-and-a-half years?

At this rate, Christmas will eventually overtake itself, and you’ll have to buy your 2021 presents before you put your tree up in 2020.

If I was a majority of the front runners, I would be keeping an eye on Ms. Abrams as a possible VP choice. Shes has experiences in whatever program you want her to help promote.

Obvious experiences with election reform. Interned with the EPA. Taken part in civil rights demonstration. Tax attorney. Blue minority chair of a red state.

Hell her parents are Methodists Minsters so she’d be able to tell Pence where to stick his Evangelical Jesus.

I think she should run, if thinks go horribly wrong she tries for the Governor again in 2022. This time with more national attention.

Yeah if one of the white dudes du jour ends up the Presidential candidate, not picking Abrams as the VP would probably mean a loss.

I thought the same. Anybody who doesn’t pick her is making a mistake.

Stacy Abrams has more of a vice president feel (to me). She would be a good balance to one of those same old white guy dem politicians that CNN keeps telling me rates high in their stupid polls.

Same but only because I could see her eventually becoming President and then hopefully sitting on the Supreme Court some day. I think a lifetime in the Senate would be a nice career but there’s something very one-in-a-million about her.

No, she should run against Perdue. VP does nothing, Democrats are better off choosing some random ex-coal miner who is mayor of some small PA town.

Winning the White House would be such a fantastic ‘fuck you’ to that cheating asshole Brian Kemp. AND she’d be a great President.

I’m a little torn on this. I would prefer she say focused on winning the GA senate seat. In my opinion it would look better that she can claim she had the opportunity to run for the highest office in the land but cares for her state too much that she would prefer to run for senate or gov again.

If she runs for POTUS, not get the nomination or anything then afterwards runs for governor again in GA will the reps try to cast her as some politician just running for any open seat she can?

But also running for POTUS would give her more name recognition which could help her chances when she runs for governor again.

I actually see this as her starting to craft that narrative, but who knows.

The issues is that running in a state that so vigorously fixes election results (against her) is just a waste of her potential. If she can take her no-nonsense bad-assery all the way to the white house, be it as President or as VP, she might the energy to kick the GOP corruption to the curb long enough to starve it out for good, because they depend on cheating to stay in power, and as a victim of their cheating and abuse, you can be damn sure she’s going to throw any form of possible cheating off a cliff and watch the explosion with a smile.

Too soon for Stacey. Too late for Biden (and Bernie, too). All of them need to sit down.

If Beto can get the nomination (doubtful), he WILL win the White House.
