    They tried it..

    “Republican Senators are proposing new legislation to allow the President to violate the Constitution just this once in order to give themselves cover,” she said. “The House will not take up this legislation to give President Trump a pass.”

    Speaker Pelosi already said she won’t take this version up for a vote in the House so the republican senators are wasting their time.

      Can you blame her? It only applies to FUTURE declarations, meaning this southern border bullshit continues. It’s basically to try to prevent future Democrat presidents from using this to fix real issues.

    This is the GOP’s desperate attempt to give Trump a pass while trying to curb emergency powers for future democratic presidents. There are already measures in place for Congress to stop a Presidential Emergency Declaration, problem is, none of these cowards want to be on record for it.

    All the GOP Senators who actually care about the separation and balance of powers in our republic need to do is vote with the Democrats to override Trump’s veto.

    They won’t do that, of course, because they are a bunch of cowards.

    If 14 GOP senators are backing this, then those 14 should be also backing the legislation to block trump’s emergency declaration.

    The house should take the bill and amend it to allow for backward usage on all emergency declarations (including, if it needs to, Obama’s usages of it, although all that money should have been spent by now and so it wouldn’t matter).
