“I say stupid things and stupid jokes occasionally,” he said.

Ah right. Because words are meaningless, and they don’t represent his true moral character...while having an affair with another woman.

    Sounds about white.

You're the REAL RACIST for only judging his words when you don't know what's in his heart!

The sad part is I swear I’ve met a 1000 guys like this. White dudes who are ‘edgy’ (aka just racist and sexist plus they say fuck a lot but they roll your eyes when you tell them their jokes are lame).

One would think so but oddly enough, I’m not at all surprised that it was not. Then again, if racism was a deal-breaker to begin with these racist ass white men wouldn’t be getting laid at all to hear white women tell it.

Yet we know that even the likes of Richard Spencer got married and reproduced.

Of course we know that racism’s been around for ages, but for some reason our elected officials feel more...liberated to show their true colors. I wonder what fairly recent event made them loosen their ties and let it all hang out in such fashion...

Not to dismiss where (I think) you’re going with that, because it is certainly a contributing factor, but technology certainly has played a major part. Much like cell phone video has made white people aware of what black people have been telling them all along, use of social media is making white people aware that a lot of people are just basically racist all the time.

Nah, it’s just that technology has made it easier to show what people are privately saying.

This kind of thing, among many other things, is how you know the average white person is lying when they act ignorant about the fact that racism and racist animus still exists. They’ve witnessed each other speak about black people and other people of color like this. As a black immigrant to America I’ve seen this phenomenon play out so often, especially with white people I thought were my ‘friends’—and who treated me as such—until the veil between how they talk to white people and non-black people slipped and I saw the real them. (Having not grown up around white people, it took me a while to ‘learn’ them).

First example: When I was a teenager still living in Jamaica, I visited my Jamaican auntie in New York one Christmas. She worked in a white couple’s house (cleaning, cooking etc). They were teachers. One day I had to come to work with her and they were so nice and accommodating to me before they left for the day. I spent my time in their basement while my auntie worked that day. I found a box of printed out emails that one of the white teachers had been sending to her white teacher colleagues. They all were making fun of black children. How they were dumb, illiterate—typical racist stereotypes. I was shocked that these white people who were just so nice to me and my auntie were so cruel to people who looked like me when they talked among themselves, not to mention they were in charge of teaching black children they disdained and hated.

Second example: When I first moved to the US at 23, I lived in what’s called a ‘crash pad’ i.e. a house, apt, or hotel where lots of flight crew stay while in between work flights. I got very close to two white women who lived there with me because we would sit around and chat while waiting to be called for work. One was a super sweet 50 yr old white lady from Florida. I realized she wasn’t all that she seemed when were were driving somewhere and her friend from Florida called to ask about this lazy flight attendant she had worked with recently and had complained to her about. Her friend’s first question was ‘she was black wasn’t she?’ Her friend was on speakerphone. My friend was very embarrassed and after the call ended reassured me ‘I don’t think like that’. Of course I realized at that point that yes she did—she just forgot to warn here friend there was a black person in the car and she was on speakerphone.

Third example: The other white woman who I made friends with in that house. She was in her late 20's and we bonded about guys and typical superficial stuff. We went out for drinks etc. Then one day, while I thought she was on a work trip, her fiance messaged me on Facebook looking for her. She had told him she was on vacation with me in Jamaica and was staying with my family. For proof, he sent me an email she had sent him from a ‘Jamaican internet cafe’. In it she talked about how many niggers were in Jamaica and how animalistic they were and stupid and ugly. Keep in mind this bitch was nowhere in Jamaica. She was very likely fucking one of her side-pieces somewhere in the world. But not only was she lying to her boyfriend, she was so dedicated in her racism that she told this elaborate story about all the hideous black people she was surrounded by in Jamaica. Clearly racism was one of the things she and her boyfriend bonded over.

I’ve had subsequent examples of this duplicity--the last big one after the 2016 elections--but they’re less likely to happen now because after 5 years in this country I know enough not to immediately dive into friendships with ostensibly nice white people before I see what’s beneath the surface.

Is Boucher the same person as Bouchard? Is Boucher the same person as Berube? Who is considering doing the appointing and who is in consideration for being appointed to the chairman slot? Boucher insists Boucher’s first choice is Boucher?

Why switch between Everly and Berube without explaining that she goes by both names (like the Sun Journal article explained)?

It was all pretty distracting and confusing, but yes, screw Boucher, Bouchard, Berube, Everly, and the whole crew.

I am struggling to understand the joke. I don’t get it. The “antique” because they are elderly, but what does farm equipment have to do with black people?

That piece of shit is referring to the days when black people were enslaved. Slaves were kidnapped and brought here almost exclusively to do the sort of farm work that machines do so, to him, that makes old black people agricultural equipment instead of actual humans.

Oh, I understood the joke immediately, because I’m from the south where black people were indeed ‘farm equipment’, or farm labor. It’s racist as hell, but kinda funny to. I wasn’t offended by it because it’s silly.

Racism is indeed stupid. Very, very stupid that someone would allow such a thing to treat other people as less then human. But what’s stupid is instead of addressing your stupidity and trying to do better, you hand-wave it away and make no moves to fix it -before- someone alerts the world and it blows up in your face.

No, you do as many of your ilk does and when the world turns around and gives you the long stare, -then- you claim that it’s wrong and will address it, when quite frankly, 60-70% of the time, that’s complete bullshit and you know it.

All racist “jokes” are just racism. Whites only use the “joke” part to try and hide it. But nah, they’re never funny and theirs never any intelligence to it.
