    I’m kind of confused why a “Department of Homeless Services” has its own police force to begin with. It’s not uncommon for a college or a transit system to have their own police, but this is the first time I’m seeing some city department have its own police.

      Why does any social services agency need its own police force. Why does a school board need a police force with a SWAT team and APCs?

      Which is only one reason why, perhaps, you should remain TRUE! There is nothing that says you have to be like everyone else. Given our history of mistreatment, why can’t we be the people a homeless person can count on to help? Why not be the people who will try to calm a situation, seek alternative resolutions? It can still be known that Black will whoop-ass if you keep on but we can walk softly and carry a huge stick!

      Blacks are used to going our own way: our own artistic preferences, our own philosophies, our own fashion, our own way of walking...why can’t we do our own MORAL THING, People?!

    Yep, find some way to make it sound like you were facing off against an armed ne’er do well. I’m surprised they didn’t describe it as a manually operated switchblade type weapon.

    Oh and yet more swift justice against a police officer. Only took two years. I’m sure if the homeless man did that to the cop it would have been two years before we saw the tape or charges filed.
