Trump cannot get decent legal representation because he’s known for not paying his lawyer fees and lying to his lawyers.  Cohen worked for Trump because Trump literally couldn’t get other legal representation.

I would gleefully point out to conservatives to be careful when assaulting “the libs” at rallies, since he’s obviously not a man of his word when it comes to paying for lawyers to protect his mob, but since when do they listen to reason...?

I’m a lawyer and I feel like this is a dumb idea. It’s not my legal opinion, just my gut reaction. Seems weird for a disbarred lawyer to ask to be paid for legal fees incurred while commiting fraud for the client and for the resulting fines after being caught, but who knows. I assume he’s represented so his lawyers probably know something I don’t. I mean, I hope he wins just because it would piss off his even more fraudulent client.

Reppin’ is reppin’, yo. Since he hasn’t been convicted of fraud (right?), I imagine it still applies.

My guess is that in order to defend themselves Trump would have to give up information, engage in discovery, etc. (which is bad) or admit they committed crimes so that the retainer is void for public policy reasons.

Good luck. The only thing Dolt 45 goes out of his way to pay for is his mistresses.

“The only thing Dolt 45 goes out of his way to pay for is his mistresses.”

How DARE you, sir! How dare you imply that OUR president, the only world leader who could look at Kim Jong Un as a fitness coach, only pays for his mistresses! He pays for lots of things, and he pays bigly! There’s his bronzer budget, Adderall, KFC, hamberders, etc.

Besides, why should he have to pay Cohen another dime? He WAS paying Cohen to lie for him, but then Cohen stopped lying for him, right? Jobs don’t keep paying you after you stop doing them.

Man who helped a notorious deadbeat not pay his bills is upset that the notorious deadbeat isn’t paying his bill.

Who could have seen this situation coming?

I’m a lawyer and I feel like this is a dumb idea. It’s not my legal opinion, just my gut reaction. I don’t think it’s customary for a disbarred lawyer to ask to be paid for fees incurred while commiting fraud and for the resulting fines, but who knows.
