I have a constant problem with strange criminals showing up and doing unwanted yard work on my front lawn.  It’s gotten to the point where I’ve had to hire a full time good guy with a rake to keep them away!

Yep, the PD’s response was utter idiocy, but I will offer this point:  When the officer says to put whatever it is down, please put it down.  Don’t give the hyper-hyped individual a segue into putting bullets into your body.  You may be on the moral high ground, but you’ll still be getting lowered into the ground for no good reason, and no ability to see justice done in your case.

When you’re working in your own yard, you don’t expect to be confronted by cops with guns drawn. It’s very easy to say “he should have complied” but I’m guessing they shot him long before he had a chance to figure out what was even going on.

God Boulder is such a yuppie hellscape. I’ll make sure to hassle the City Hall and the PD about this bs for the next 60 to 90 days, even if all I can do is waste some asshole’s time. Fuck boulder! (and if you’re mad at me now cos you went to CU and got shitfaced every night for 5 years, take a deep breath and revel in the fact that you’re way more well-off than I am, and keep that shit to yourself)

So, grain of salt because I’ve never been. But when I lived in Sacramento this woman moved in our neighborhood from Boulder and one time she was talking (read: complaining) about the homeless problem in Sacramento and she said, “I mean, there are homeless people in Boulder, but they like, wear Patagonia, you know what I mean?” And I...didn’t know what she meant at all, and I avoided her at all costs after that. I try not to paint with a broad brush, but she always comes to mind first when I hear about Boulder.

A person can be heard saying that eight cops eventually showed up to take down the black magician whose trash grabber could have been confused for a staff

Police have released a still of the suspect with his trash grabber. As it turns out it’s more like a wand:

“launching an internal affairs investigation into the call and the response, which is expected to produce more trash than the victim was cleaning up,”

Remember kids... white supremacy can mean that the police have the absolute right to order you to do anything at any time and for any reason (your civil rights and liberties mean nothing to people who aren’t black), and even when you do comply, they can and will beat you and occasionally kill you... and the internet will call you a criminal thug, (that will happen regardless just because you are black) and CNN and Fox will have a member of law enforcement to explain why being a police officer is hard... and when there are no charges filed against the officer or they are acquitted of any wrong doing, your family will be broken by your loss and the lack of justice for your murder, and your son or daughter will bare the emotional scars into the next generation... because white supremacy is a system purposefully created, and tacitly approved of by even well meaning white people in order to keep you and people who look like you from creating wealth and threatening the status quo.

Tomorrow’s lesson? How Robert Moses helped create the modern ghetto, and re-designed every large american city to make social mobility nearly impossible for people of color.

And even some black people will make excuses about how the victim could have behaved differently to avoid being killed because of their skin color! I hate that shit. We’re not even allowed to be human and have emotion and stand up for our rights to not be treated like animals. And our own people will admonish us for those things, as if we truly hold the ultimate responsibility for our brutalization by state forces. It makes me sick.

It’s wild that Robert Moses isn’t on the curriculum in most high school American history classes. Not since the renaissance popes has an individual person so thoroughly remade a city, a state, and eventually an entire nation as Robert Moses did.

They make an app that you can use to record police footage that will automatically send the footage to the ACLU regardless of whether some cop tries to fuck with your phone. Everybody should have it. https://www.aclu.org/issues/criminal-law-reform/reforming-police-practices/aclu-apps-record-police-conduct

charges for littering, brandishing an unlicensed trash grabber and grand theft bucket should be forthcoming. With an uppity negro enhancement he’ll be doing 5 - 10.

I am always amazed that no matter the activity that when the police are called on one of us the immediate follow up is..... back up and more police need to be called. For real? Dylan Roof can be taken down by two officers but no matter the issue fifty fucking cops have to be called when a black man does anything. I mean are they afraid he’ll tell “AVENGERS ASSEMBLE” and Iron Man and the crew will show up? Gee maybe Thanos and the Infinity Stones will soon follow. Enough of this shit. For real like KRS-ONE said “Who protects us from you?”

      I wish.

Far too many people think it’s their right to stick their nose in everyone’s personal business for no reason.

      America is a police state.

I got pulled over for a broken taillight once when I was 16 years old. 8, (yes 8!) police cars showed up and asked the guy if he needed assistance. It was about 10 pm at night in the middle of nowhere I was scared shitless. Just by dumb luck the cop I was talking to used to work with my mother when they were both corrections officers like 10 years prior and he let me go with a warning!
