This is what it takes to be a “good cop.” This is why you can’t just be like, “oh there are plenty of good cops.” They aren’t “good” if they’re not actively fighting the corrupt ones.

No, a good cop would have filed a report. He may not have wanted to incriminate himself by lying about what happened but he also avoided reporting what happened as well.

You’re right - I amend this to call him a “medium cop” (of minimum decency).

Chicago needs Sgt. Isaac Lamber back at the CPD and for Preckwinkle faces in Lightfoot to speak on how they will protect whistleblowers in the CPD.

Hold up, wait a minute, let me put some bubbles in it! Lambert is no hero of the disabled, crusader of righteousness and he damn sure ain’t no whistleblower! He was the Detective on the case who didn’t finalize a police report from August 2017 until February 2019!

Specifically, he and his supervisors and the department FOIA Administrator didn’t make a report available the multiple times ‘someone’ requested it AFTER A YEAR! So totally against federal and state FOIA laws! If he wrote his report, I need to see it date-stamped or independently verified that he submitted it. I don’t think he did write it for fear of painting the officer in a bad light (causing blue hatred) or didn’t want his name on the lie for the INEVITABLE lawsuit - as evidenced by ‘someone’ coming by repeatedly asking for the report!

He has spent this time arguing, being argued at and trying to find a way out for him and his brother officer. His bosses wanted him to lie and help cover up during the lawsuit, he balked. They threatened, he didn’t relent (probably while waiting for pension eligibility or enhancement and researching Whistleblower Protections which often include MONEY rewards). So they demoted him as an ongoing threat.

He is suing for his pension at its highest amount at Detective rank and not to be indicted as a co-conspirator PERIOD! He don’t give damn about that disabled boy and probably only released his from the hospital cuz a cute nurse shamed him!

I assume the Chicago police union will launch a staunch defense of Lambert much in the same way the NRA did with Emantic Bradford, Jemel Roberson, and Philando Castile.

This is what happens to the few “good cops.”

Kudos to Lambert for being a cop with a conscience and doing the right thing. I’m glad he wants to return to his old job, as Chicago desperately needs more cops like him.

Let this be a lesson to everyone who’s still feeling smug about Jussie. The Chicago police is fundamentally corrupt.
