Okay, it’s the police union’s job to defend its union members, but c’mon! Draw the line somewhere on the other side of defending a child killer’s job!

You must not be familiar with literally every police union.

We are literally coming up on two years to the month for his firing. Is this the hill they want to die on? They still remember his jittery, emotionally unstable ass? Really? This bitch is who you want to go to the mat for?

    Illustration for article titled

If I shot a child to death on the job, the last thing I’d be trying to do is get my job back. I wouldn’t even want to see a gun.

Timothy Loehmann, I know you don’t really want to be back out on the streets of Cleveland, right?  Run; run away, and never return.

I was wondering why CPU would be so pressed to appeal the ruling. Couldn’t make it in Mayberry. When a village of 4,106 white folks doesn’t want your ass patroling them time to give up the badge.

LOL, at the union trying to get his job back by blaming the city for not verifying his lies.

Reminder: Loehman ended up on the CPD not by merit or test scores.

He ended up there, because he was fired from Independence. And lied on his application.

He was not fired from CPD for killing an unarmed child.

He was fired for lying on his application about being fired from Independence.

Independence fired him after he completely failed even the most basic qualification testing. Twice. That letter explicitly said “I do not believe time, nor training, will be able to change or correct the deficiencies.” In short: he was too dangerous and unpredictable to even be given a second chance.

Everyone involved has gone to extreme lengths to draw the line back as far away from the actual murder as they possibly can and confuse it as much as possible.

CPD insists they never reviewed the file that was sent over - by law - from Independence. “How could we know?!”

Which was a response to their department finding him “during firearms qualification training he was distracted and weepy.”

His own father told two police departments his son was moving in search of “more action.”

He slept through training. He broke down in tears for months. He admitted to lying to peace officers. He admitted to lying to educators. He failed to follow simple instructions at a shooting range, he got confused, and broke down sobbing.

Anything to make it somebody else’s fault they hired him and he shot a kid.

Yeah, but c’mon - why would you need to perform any due diligence before handing someone a gun and giving them authority over citizens? Just like, take his word for it that he’s a good, responsible guy. What could possibly go wrong?

I really hope that one day we see justice done against at least one killer cop. Tim Loehmann, Jeronimo Yanez, Betty Shelby, Daniel Panteleo, Amber Guyger, etc.... Just let one of these people turn around one day and come face to face with retribution.

Remember when the Dora Milaje knocked on door of Killmonger's Daddy's house?  Appearing out of thin air to stoically but quietly pronounce judgment on each and every one of them. In the dark of night, inside their homes, when they’re all alone.

Neither black or white, always blue. Must be nice to know that no matter what or how incompetent you are you will always be protected.

I know it’s hard, but you can simultaneously defend unions and want to see them reformed.

If the Teamsters tried the get the job back of someone who lied that they could drive a forklift and then killed a bunch of people with one, I would not be supportive of that effort.

No one in that union’s leadership thought to just take the L? He’s not in jail, that’s known as a good thing for a lot of shitty people. Oh noes, he lost his job - good! Don’t do anything and you got one less shit cop to use up dues protecting....maybe throw out some token bullshit about reform to CYA the next time a Cleveland cop murders an innocent person.

But why wouldn't a police department want a violent liar with a history of beating women and killing children on the force?
