Did six republican senators suddenly die and Mitch McConnell lose his majority seat? Because he didn’t allow the senate to vote on it last year, why would he do it this year when it would only help democrats in the presidential election?

I dunno, I guess it’s like all the posturing about reparations. We all know that shit is going to happen, but it looks good on TV.

I personally think it’s the other way around; if the GOP doesn’t legalize it then the Democrats will run on it. Polls have support for legalization at over 60%, either it gets done before the election or it will be used as a weapon against Republicans.

I specifically moved from tight ass North Carolina to Nevada last year. Y'all need this legal weed, man.

I moved to NV six years ago and I’m never ever leaving. I’m up north in Reno and it’s full of hippies and the best Mexican and Salvadoran food I’ve ever had in my life. Pupusas changed my life.

I do UberEats in Reno. Needless to say I am deep in the weed & cuisine scene here. I'm never leaving!

Fed de-criminalization might work because like everything else in this country when the rich people running rich corporations want to make money things change (the GOP has no problem treating morality as a flexible concept). Right now Canadian pot stocks are supreme (Tilray and Canopy Growth). Big tobacco wants in on the feeding (smoking) frenzy. John Boehner is lobbying for it. Plus it takes the issue away from the Dems and, perhaps more importantly, the Libertarians who might defect from the GOP fold.

I haven’t had a personal (platonic or otherwise) relationship with somebody that either is currently or was previously a habitual smoker of the stuff in almost 20 years. If I have, they were totes ok with it, just didn’t like it themselves.

Can we as a planet get over it already?

The planet largely IS over it.  Its just special interest groups that are trying to keep politicians from getting over it.

Yea cause we as a planet keep voting people in that can’t get over it.

Ya I know it's a bit more complex than that, but still.
