Lately The Hot take industry is obsessed with discussing the GOAT of NBA players and this man’s name is not mentioned enough. The fact that he won NBA Finals MVP’s in 1971 & in 1985 pretty much demand that he be included in the conversation. Thank you Kareem for being an example on the court & off. Oh if there is one ring he should keep it is the 1985 one. The first time The Lakers ever beat The Celtics in the Finals. For those that don’t know he was 38 & averaged 27.4.PPG 11.0 RPG 2.3 BPG & 5.1 APG While shhoting 61% from the field. Tell me again about LeBron?

      ditto.

Kareem is #1 on my list and i doubt i change it before i die.

i look at it like this.

#1 in all-time NBA scoring, the NCAA outlawed the dunk because of him and 2 of the GOATs often mentioned over him never won a NBA title without him (Oscar & Magic).

i love Lebron and love what he’s doing off the court....but Kareem did it 1st and in a time where it cost him any shot at off court revenue.

Has LeBron ever managed to haul Walton and Lanier up and down a court for 48 minutes?

Abdul-Jabbar is parting with the rings from his 1980, 1985, 1987 and 1988 NBA Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers

You know what I’d rather buy? A name-tag for Roger Murdock! He’s an airline pilot…

Jesus the start of the header made my heart *race (my mind lept towards "He's dead")

*No, I literally felt a pang. These have been seriously shitty times.

I had the same reaction since he did have a cancer diagnosis a couple of years ago.  On top of all his basketball accomplishments he was always so much more than that.

The face that he’s “only” 71 years old is confounding cause he looked about 58 when he last played in the NBA. /s

But, hell yes to the modern GOAT center (ball nor stats lie) for doing this! Support STEM, STEAM and the arts! They are crucial in this time of illiteracy.

I think you are mistaken. He’s an airline pilot.
