I’m form Detroit also.And we’ve never considered ourselves NIGGAS!.Not with Detrot Red(Malcolm X),The Nation Of Islam(which started in Detroit) Milton Henry of The Republic Of New Africa,Rev.Cleague of The Shrine Of The Black Madonna,Coleman A. Young,Joe Louis,Sugar Ray Robinson,Tommy “Hit Man Hearns”.Berry Gordy and Motown,Aretha Franklin and I could go on.None of these great people considered themselves NIGGAS!They would fight you for such an insult.They were proud Black People and our youth need to understand that calling each other NIGGAS make us look kike fools!!!It;s time to mature and carry ourselves like The Kings and Queens of the earth that we are!!!

Thank you my Brother! Being from Detroit, it is hard to explain to someone who has not lived there, how different it was to grow up in a place that was unapologetically black and proud. We had blackness throughout our city - in our schools, government, police force, court system (Recorders Court), businesses, etc. Mayor Coleman Young was a symbol of intelligence, political savvy and backbone for Detroit. It’s a city that had and still has its share of problems. But like most of our families, those of us who grew up in it also love it fiercely. Detroit (Wakanda) forever!

Harlem Black folk != NYC Black folk. You ain’t the only one who has messed that up. But Brooklyn has more Black people than Detroit has people, so there’s that. And Queens and the Bronx has their own cultures. The Bronx gave the world hip-hop and Queens is one of 2 counties in the USA where Black people are wealthier than the Whites. Even relatively White Staten Island gave the world Wu Tang Clan. And we’re the most ethnically diverse Black population on Earth, with people from all over the world. I’ll let you finish, but NYC has the greatest Black population of all time!
