I have to say that I’m surprised that the Chiefs and the NFL made this move, and made it as quickly as they did. Star player on a top team, and a relatively cheap contract to boot? Color me (pleasantly) shocked.

On the other hand, they released him because he lied about the incident, not because he beat the crap out of someone. It ain’t the crime, it’s the coverup.

Hunt is a star performer. The NFL will totally pick him back up within 6 months after they help him play this down to basically a slap on the wrist.

Or, Ray Rice... I don’t think so, though, Video is video. No one cares if you confess and admit everything we saw, once they see it, now it’s real to them. Fans are the real problem. We don’t treat it all the same and revile them equally. Unless dogs are involved. Then you don’t need video...

The nfl is like the police. They believe their guy and what they say until video surfaces showing otherwise (although the police would still argue he acted appropriately).

**girds loins for hot-takes in the comments**

I’ve already heard “But she called him a nigger” defense. Stop hitting people who pose no serious physical threat to you. Walk the fuck away. Period. She was in his hotel room. All he had to do was take his ass back inside his room.  And then his boy grabbing the other girl’s phone so she couldn’t film?  What in the whole entire fuck?

    Next.

And I just got a “But she was fighting like a man.”

I wish all the bad things in the world will happen to any of you who continue to defend this. and only you.

The visual is what did it. Can we comment on the 19 year old girl trying to party with a group grown men and calling them niggers when they kicker her out of the room? Yeah he’s a punk but another Becky thinks she can call a black man that word and everyone rushes to her defense? The reason I bring this up is that these same white women that rushed to defend Brett Kavanaugh, claiming that he could’ve been their son, brother, husband, will have no issue slamming Kareem.

Don’t look at me, I’m not rushing to her defense. It’s not even really relevant to me that she (may have) used the N word. She was CLEARLY the aggressor, and actually sucker punched the guy in the face. Up until the kick, Hart was the victim.

19 isn’t hugely different than 22 or whatever these guys likely are.

The collegiate and professional football clearly attracts and rewards players with rage, anger and mental health issues. Then, add drugs, alcohol and weaponry, and the mix is toxic to say the least. The league thinks, or perhaps knows, these deficit men make the best players for sure, and they look past all of the bad behavior to win bowls. It sickens me.

      Huh?

Was that supposed to be English?

Oh and the rest of your post just reeks of football ignorance.

If you don’t know the topic, keep yo ignant brown ass on the sideline.

Apparently he was upset when he discovered the girl was 19? A couple at my bar— in Kansas City— this morning mentioned this and I asked if he was upset that she was too old or too young?

(To be fair, I know fuck all about sports.)

She wasn’t 19. She was 17. And drinking. And he didn’t want no parts of intoxicating or having sex with an underaged girl.
