But how will Mueller know whether or not he’s telling the truth?

By investigating? I’m pretty sure investigators (and journalists back in the day) are drilled never to trust a single source. Use the information given by a source to find physical evidence/witnesses that can corroborate or refute the testimony they’ve given. Then when you’ve got 2 independent sources confirming the same thing, you can file it into the believable column.

Yes, this. You don’t just take someone’s word for it, you look for the evidence, whether electronic or paper. You match that up with what different people are saying, and you nail the ones you catch lying. Then you get them to spill the beans about what really happened, under threat of “now we’ve already got you on X, you lie to us again and you’re going to get wrecked” (aka see what’s happening to Manafort). Also, this dude recorded his phone calls - he kept receipts. And they’ve got all that, too.

Bottom line - this won’t just be a he said/she said.

You’re spot on. Mueller is an expert of not asking questions he doesn’t know the answer to, AND also playing off the known liars in this fiasco.  Dude took down Enron and the mob. He’s considered the fact that he’s not dealing with the smartest and most honest people here.

See also: Manafort lying to Mueller, then running to Trump to tell his team the lies he told, enabling Trump to officially sign off on Manafort’s lies.

I don’t know about this whole Mueller Investigation, guys.

I’ve even heard that some people are calling it a “witch hunt.”

Heard the same thing, which raises the question: How many witches do you have to catch before it’s no longer a witch hunt?

I’m not worried. If Mueller’s work so far is any indication, he will get a bunch of corroborating/contradictory statements and he’s going to cross-reference every single freaking thing in them, down to the colour of the paper napkins used at a clandestine meeting.

Trump only uses paper napkins when eating fast food, so ... wait, that checks out. Carry on.

As one of my boys use to frequently remind us when chastised him for his questionable behavior: “Lambs don’t hang out with wolves.” So even commenting that a Trump co-conspirator is a liar elicits the response of “duh!”

Being a prevaricator is a prerequisite for working for the orange dotard. No honest person would and if they did choose to work for him after a short while it would become apparent that actively lying is a condition for continued employment.

Are we implying that if Cohen was a confessed murder or sex predator he would prove to be more believable in a court?

The chief witness against John Gotti was his henchmen Sammy Gravano, a confessed murder of 19 people. Jurors found him believable to to return a guilty verdict on Gotti.

Lambs do not hang out with wolves!

But what about Hillary? Comey? Rosenstein? Obama? Bill Clinton? Jimmy Carter?  Why aren’t they being investigated?

And they still haven’t contacted all the Americans who haven’t colluded with the Russians! We want to testify to tell him there was no collusion! (Well, none between me and Russia, at least - though, I have no comment about the existence of a pee tape and whether I’m in it).

These oxygen thieves lie so much their testimony is virtually worthless. One can only hope there are paper (and electronic) trails. Gotta say, I do love how Mueller is going all Jack McCoy on their asses, though. Orangefinger is on the way to having a massive meltdown.
