He’s a Republican. If he gave any shits about the welfare of other black people, he would not be a Republican.

In SC politics it’s “if I vote with y’all I can run my district like a fiefdom? Dig it - im too dumb to follow politics anyway. Lemme know how I need to vote on what”

Cause he’s a fucking Uncle Tom

I mean this is sad and sick. Can he really be that self-hating? Or that enthralled with being a Senator in a state that could care less about him? I am always amazed that these folks exist...him, Clarence Thomas, Condi (to some degree)...learned black ppl who truly hate themselves. I need to stop being so surprised...

I think they’re playing an ego game with their self. On one hand they tell themselves that they beat the odds so they’re better than the people they grew up with. Then on the other hand they’ve convinced themselves that the racists except them for who they are now...but won’t admit to themselves that they had to sell their souls first to get in their good graces. They’ve pretended to be somebody else but still know that they can’t go back home to the family who know it’s all bs & will clown them for it. They don’t want their pride to get hurt.

The man whose livelihood depends on the racist status quo finds no problem with the racist status quo.

You know, I’m just glad he’s bald.  Because can you even imagine his haircut if he wasn’t?  It would be an epic tragedy.

I like what Michael Steele said years ago as RNC chair. You need POC at the table to ensure our concerns are addressed when the GOP is running shit.

Doesn’t help at all if they at the table pushing food around their plate instead of taking care of business and running to the chocolate fountain like kids at Golden Corral.

I can’t work up much outrage here. If someone is a member of a group that Republicans have tried to marginalize or actively injure (i.e., if you’re anything but a wealthy white male) and still decides to be a Republican, that person has already traded in any semblance of conscience and integrity they may have had, so any dubious word or deed is to be expected.

Yeah, this shouldn’t be a hard vote at all. But we’re dealing with a black Republican, here.

He ain’t no different than Susan Collins pretending to waffle back and forth over an issue that should be a no-brainer, and he will disappoint you and vote with the republicans every time.
