Let me tell you: I’m a big-time dog lover, and I am disgusted by any juxtaposition of Black people with animals. Any normal person should be disturbed and angered by that. But then again, I’m Black, and don’t need convincing that my people are human beings deserving of dignity.

I am a white woman animal lover. I’d go after anyone who hurt my dogs or cats.

But no matter how much I love them personally, they are not people and respecting them should never involve comparing their cake to that of a human.

Just another way white society others and demeans the valley of black lives.

Yes. I am upset the dog died. I'm livid about the loss of human life.

I remember the vitriol surrounding Michael Vick after his dog fighting arrest. This was far worse, so much more outraged, disgusted, vehement, and loud in their distaste for that man, than I ever saw for any football player accused of actions such as drug use, assault, domestic violence, drunk driving, manslaughter, or murder. (The closest I’ve seen is the fuming over kapernick and his kneeling).

So, yes, dog people are just out of touch with life in gerneral.

I’ve had multiple conversions with people who consider Mike Vick worse than Ray Rice or Donte Stallworth/Leonard Little. Stallworth and Little both killed someone from a DUI. Granted Little was well before social media and neither were as good/popular Vick but neither of these dudes served any hard time for KILLING A PERSON with a car.

Vick spent 2 years in fucking Levenworth. Little got probation and a 8 game suspension. Stallworth servied 30 days in jail.

BTW, there is no legal “self-defense” defense against a police dog or any other animal being used in the line of duty alongside police. They have legal protections similar to those of human police officers.  You can not legally intentionally kill a police dog in Michigan, and I’m sure in almost every other state.

Not surprising given that our ability to defend ourselves isn’t recognized against any other white (or white adjacent) people either.

I’m always skeptical of an officer who tells one story and then tries to switch it up.

Suit yourself. I’m always skeptical of somebody who sticks to their story 100% without even prevaricating unless they have conclusive evidence.

I’m skeptical of a system that automatically assumes a certain story, announces that story as if there were no doubt, walks the story back when it because clear that at least some of it is untrue, and then follows the exact same procedure next time.

You could have just stopped there. I’m sure there are plenty of good ones, but until all those good ones get together and drum the murderous racists and incompetent cowards out of the force it’s only sensible to treat any police story with the utmost skepticism.

Neither needed to die, and now they’re dead. I’m saddened and disgusted by both.

Huh. An innocent dog gets more sympathy than a man who fired a shot at the police. I’ll work on developing some rage about this. May take a while though.

The dog was a K-9 police dog, so obviously he was a racist.

It’s very common in this news cycle that we demand, that police spokespersons are told one thing that they then release (because to take a day to gather accurate information is unforgivable) only to have to walk it back. Remember the cop in front of the cameras is rarely involved. We have a case here in Canada where a spokesman committed suicide largely because they were ostracized for initially reporting what later turned out to be untrue. We can either have a news release an hour after something happens, or we can have more accurate reports the next day.

As for the funerals, its extremely common for service animals to receive full honours. I have never heard of the police holding a funeral for someone that shot at them. Was there something preventing the family from having a funeral? Or is this just a case of the police honoring their own,  and you trying to race bait?

Not knowing is a shit-poor excuse for lying. If you don’t know, admit you don’t know.

Of course, what’s really happening is that the cops deliberately lie about their crimes and then wipe it off on the spokespeople. Everyone gets plausible denial and nothing changes.

In the case of what happened in Canada, that’s exactly what happened. Well not exactly, the cops involved were all charged with varying crimes.

But in this case, who knows why he gave incorrect information? Maybe the cops lied, or maybe they thought the perpetrator shot the dog, and the next day the necropsy report indicated otherwise.

This article also cant make up its mind:

“Cops shot their own dog and blamed the innocent black man.”

“The innocent black man shot the dog in self defense”

Its poor journalism, and at the end of the day is trying to evoke an emotional response to a non-starter. Police never have, and never will, hold funerals for people who try to kill them. Police always have, and always will hold funerals for their own.

Shit like this just devalues bigger issues. It's hard to blame right when they say we dont have race issues when the left is publishing articles trying to vilify cops for shooting an active shooter.

Yes white people value the lives of dogs over black lives. They’ll cry over a K-9 as they step over black bodies in the street. Check their track record.
