    Why couldn’t he be the one who tried to take Christianity to the indigenous East Indian tribe on that isolated island?

    As stupid as Chau was (and he was very, very stupid), I still think at heart he believed he was doing the indigenous people a favor. Donald Trump would never even consider doing anyone a favor. The only reason he’d ever go to a remote island would be to extract something from it or exploit it.

    You kinda have to sit back and admire it in a way. He’s like live action Captain Planet villain. He goes out of his way to be bad. If he doesn’t have toxic waste to dump on some unspoiled land he sees, he’s going to create some just to pollute it.

    If Donald Trump accidentally went a day without saying something stupid or doing something awful, people would wonder if he was feeling ok: “ Today Donald Trump shocked the world by saying he likes puppies, what does this new direction mean for the country? The stock market dropped 400 points on the uncertainty of what a less evil Trump might mean for the economy.”

      Well, I disagree with you on Chau, I believe he was doing it for himself more than the other people. He wanted to feel good about spreading ‘the word’.

      But donald would never go there, because it’s too rural, too many black people, and he wouldn’t feel safe. We are talking about a president who generally only goes on political trips where his base is strong. He’s been to the most populous state in the country all of twice, and both because of natural disasters. He just can’t handle the concept of people not liking him.

      In fact not only would Trump never do someone a favor, if he found himself accidentally doing someone a favor he would cancel whatever it was he was doing.

      It’s more important to him that “the other guy” suffer than he himself benefit - this is why he makes so little money relative to the opportunities he was given in life. He can’t just do a deal where one guy makes a $1m and he makes $5m. He’d rather make only $500K, if it made sure the other guy LOST $1m.

      He’s the epitome of non-rich Conservative world view: They’d be happy to live under a bridge and eat pigeons, as long as you assured them that “the other” didn’t have a bridge or a pigeon.

    wait a second...there is the theory that Trump never wanted to win in the first place and his original plan was to start his own network or show where he would be able to play up the whole “The angry “law and order” grandpa America wasn’t ready for” angle.

    So I’m saying big if true and if true then *puts on foil hat* he’s already making his exit so he can fuck off into the sunset with his own lame TV empire.

      Radio America is a privately run conservative network. Do you mean Voice of America?

      Interestingly the part of the Smith-Mundt Act which prevented VoA from being broadcast in the US because of the fear of propaganda was overturned in 2013 by a republican rider to a defense spending bill (maybe this has always been a republican dream), so technically they can broadcast domestically now (but I don’t think they do).

    Not gonna lie, there’s a part of me that is hoping this turns into a case of the bad ones eating their own. Like, Trump has some jackass (probably his son-in-law) whispering in his ear about how Reagan nationalized the Air Traffic Controllers to break their strike, so he decides to nationalize Fox News.

    Watching the Murdochs realize the Russian puppet they’ve been propping up for years is trying to take their empire away via eminent domain, or whatever, would be glorious.

    I mean, it would be horrific for any number of other reasons, but that seems to be the hell we live in now.
