    Could a cow-knower out there explain what’s going on with this thing? Wikipedia is no help, simply stating “A mature Holstein cow typically weighs 680–770 kg (1500-1700 lb), and stands 145–165 cm (58-65 in) tall at the shoulder.” This cow is a foot taller and roughly twice the weight of that maximum.

    That’s not a cow; it’s a steer. A cow is a female that has had at least one calf. A heifer is an non calved female. A steer is a castrated male. A bull still has his balls.

      Yes, but the word ‘cow’ is commonly used to refer to all types of cattle. It stems from the lack of singular form for ‘cattle.’
