“Haitian man who was illegally jailed and ultimately deported”

THIS should have gotten officer asshat the full 10 years. He is responsible for having an innocent man deported under false pretenses.

Who in this nation with the power will right this wrong?!

Too bad for officer asshat that he’s not the right color or Saudi’s Bitch would pardon him.

And they gave you jail time because you’re brown too.

Let’s start taking bets on how long he’s in before he gets out on good behavior. I’m going to say 14 months, but I could be talked into less.

Federal prison doesn’t have parole and time off for good behavior is capped at like 50 days per year served. So he’s not getting out particularly early unless Trump pardons him.

Man what kind of a human being must you be to send someone else to jail knowing they did not commit a crime. Jesus.

I expect he had the cop attitude of “I’m sure they’re guilty of *something*”

This is what bothers me about this kind thing — by FRAMING someone else, you are aiding and abetting the ACTUAL criminal, which should make you legally complicit in the act, an accomplice after the fact. Which *should* mean people who do that sort of thing get to go to prison for the crime they’re helping cover up.

Cops and DAs don’t care about the ‘real’ vs. their idea of the ‘real’ criminal. They care about closing cases and getting guilty pleas/verdicts. That’s it. That’s why they also don’t care how the prison system treats them. Because if they come out as criminals or they’ve bettered themselves, they just don’t care.

Even victims have issues with this. They find out that someone they’ve hated for 7 years was determined to be innocent by some DNA or something, and they insist he’s guilty anyway, and it’s an injustice that he’s going free.

According to the Miami Herald, Raimundo Atesiano said to Moore on Tuesday, “When I took the job, I was not prepared…I made some very, very bad decisions.”

Hey, I know the feeling buddy. I once took on a job I was unsuitable for and unprepared for the conditions of. I quit a week or so later, because I knew better than to keep on pressing on and making things worse and worse and worse, and because I wasn’t a complete and utter fucking idiot. Enjoy jail, dumbass.

If the city of Miami PD, city of Biscayne Park, or StateAttorney Kathleen Fernandez Rundle had acted on any of the multiple incidents I reported to them about Ray in 2013, some young men wouldn’t have had their lives afflicted by the injustice put upon them by Biscayne Park.

Ray was piss poor at his job, repeated showing up late to work after long nights drinking and coked out with his ladyfriend, and they knew about it. It's good that they cleaned house in that speed trap in that "city," but the state attorney is just as culpable in cooperating in this sham to justice, and she needs to go too.

He’s Black Latino and, likely, doesn’t share in black american culture. I saw all of his family’s Facebook pages and, yeah, none of them identify as black.
