Last Tuesday, people drove around the bus throwing up their middle finger and driving dangerously close to it.

Unless Black folks and others were among those displaying this outrageous behavior, tell the truth about what happened: “...[white] people drove around the bus throwing up their middle finger and driving dangerously close to it.”

“We will mobilize them to get out to vote that one day but [also] get them to understand the full process.”

IMO, that’s the more important part. A lot of the reason we’re in this mess is because too many people - regardless of race - have no idea how government works.

One of my biggest frustrations with the left is the utter fixation on the White House. The elections that matter most to our daily lives are the local ones. Pay attention to your city council, school board, mayor’s race, statehouse, etc... If you want to feel like your vote matters then focus on smaller races where 50 or 100 votes can mean the difference between whether your school system teaches the Holocaust or not.

Too true. I actually was out canvassing for the mid-terms, and spoke to everyone who gave me even a slight opening about voting in local elections. National- and state-level, sure, but those local offices are where you start, and where you build for the future.

I can’t believe these mobs of black people are allowed to just roam around the streets disrupting lives and stuff! And pressing their “Black Voters Matter” message, as if my white vote doesn’t count at all! Harumph! Harumph, I say!

Not that it matters. It is Mississippi after all. A state proud of their educational ecksellents. Seriously, after each of Hyde-smith’s “gaffes” from the last three weeks, I’m sure her stock with magnolians just went up and up and up. “She’s racist AND she believes a woman belongs behind a man! Woo hoo! She be my kind a lady! Southern Pride!”
