      This is John Stuart Mill in a piece on interventionism from the 19th century:

      “Nations, like individuals, ought to suspect some fault in themselves when they find they are generally worse thought of than they think they deserve; and they may well know that they are somehow in fault when almost everybody but themselves thinks them crafty and hypocritical.”

      If what Mill says is true, presumably after centuries of enduring the above sentiment white people would change. They have not. I can only draw one conclusion: white people are largely unwilling or quite possibly actually incapable of introspection.

      As you succinctly expressed “further proving why white people are, well, white people”

      Yea I really hated his trolly, flat earth shit. 1 because it’s really dumb. 2 because he’s influential whether he knows it or not and kids listened to that shit. He is the J.Cole of the nba. Fake woke and annoying. It takes away from both of their talents too and makes me dislike them.

      I’m not mad about his thanksgiving comment, he’s Native American. But it seemed in line with his fake wokeness.

      Why are trolls trying to whitesplain what makes “America Great” to me I don’t know. I don’t give a damn about the ideals when this country doesn’t even attempt to try to live up to them. It makes noises as though it wants to but when push comes to shove and it comes time to take action, it will do the wrong thing for as long as it can get away with it. Miss me with this bullshit about the ideals this country was built on when it still can’t make right its original sin, that is building itself on land stolen from the people who were originally here with labor it stole from people that they kidnapped from another continent.

    After a glass or 3 of Courvoisier vsop, I would offer a few thoughts: I’m a life long (40 years) Laker fan so any self-destructive methods employed by the Celtics is always welcomed;

    Thanksgiving was based upon lies as per usual here in the U.S. but it has morphed into a general thankfulness of everything that has brought you to the day (at least it should)

    Also fuck the Celtics. And the Patriots- although I haven’t watched football in 2 years and will never do so again). And the Washington football team. Not the players but the name. And Jerry Jones. And the current president.

    I’m thankful for the ability to say those things and knowing that I will outlive the current iteration of all things noted. And that I was able to vote for Obama. Twice. In my cups or not.

    Like Christmas, Easter, Labor Day, Memorial Day, etc., Thanksgiving has been evolved by white folks to try to gloss over the whole “celebrating coming to the new world to bring civilization and Jesus and everything else that usually causes the death of millions of innocent people who were minding their own business until the white people came to town” into a day of giving thanks for family and friends and all that.

    And really. It don’t matter, for in another 20years thanksgiving will be called what the religious right really think of it as, the start of Christmas season.

    I’m not offended, but if anyone should show some gratitude and thankfulness it should be Kyrie. But if he wants no part of it, that’s fine with me. Doesn’t break my arm or pick my pocket.

    The number of white people who still associate all that bullshit about the Pilgrims and Natives sitting down to a feast with Thanksgiving dwindles as time goes on. Most of us look at it as a day off work, we get to eat a shit load of food, be thankful that we don’t have to spend more than a few days a year with our extended families, and maybe go to a movie or something.
