I don’t know Monique I heard that when white women do what they re supposed to do,in the first damn place, black people are then required to fall on their knees and praise and worship their white gods./s

    Ellen Pompeo is basically pulling the same trick white men like Michael Rappaport;

“I have a black spouse, I interact with black people regularly, I have black children, therefore I am able to speak on issues that my white ass really has no business speaking on, and I will fight the first black person who says differently, cuz I earned the right to speak black thoughts by *checks notes* having sex and procreating with a black body.”

I saw this circulating on Twitter yesterday and ignored it because I knew what it was, but I didn’t know that Ellen Pompeo 1.) has Stans and 2.) had them attacking Monique for weeks for Monique respectfully disagreeing with something she said. This whole thing was indicative of the exact kind of allyship black people don't need; one rooted in privilege, selfishness and a misplaced belief that just because you love someone black you can talk out the side of your mouth about anything affecting black people.

Yes. Say that shit. When they consider just being with someone black to be the bare minimum, WHY on Earth would you think they would bother to try and do better? They got their C- in wokeness and they’re happy.

A black woman gave her career life. She’s married to a black man and has black children. Are those the only black people that she sees and whose voices she doesn’t try to stifle?

Excuse me for questioning the sincerity of a white woman who is just becoming “woke” despite having loved ones of color for at least two decades. Performative allyship is hip right now.

The very fact that she knee-jerk reacts to any criticism by Black women tells you: she don’t love Black people, just Black dick. Oh, and I’m sure she loves her biracial kids (they’re only just Black when she’s defending herself to Black women!). Her reflexes are still Caucasoid so you also know just what kind of devoid of racial conscious muhfukka hasn’t been teaching her ass anything all these years! Oh, except how to jump on the bandwagon of fighting the patriarchy for pay equity! Oh and that new thang: diversity hiring! Eff these Beckys and the Negroes who worship them!

I find white allies who married black to be infinitely more irritating than just plain old white allies. They go in with the assumption that they can’t be wrong and they know their partner will back them up. Their allyship is based entirely on leverage over the people they want to help and they use it to elevate themselves.

I’ve noticed the Internet Defense Force for people like Ellen Pompeo (or anyone for that matter) NEVER acknowledge what is trying to be said on the opposite end. They jump to the “needing be grateful” or “ always/ stop complaining” nonsense. They have zero interest in understanding and do not actually care what is being said by all the people calling Ellen out.

Nothing new under the sun here though. Some people won’t change what they are.

I’m with you on this bitch since reading an interview with her, Shonda (her boss), Viola (a headliner) and Kerry (another headliner). She complained that she wasn’t given enough kudos for heading an ensemble show!

But all you ever need to know about her is later in the interview: Reporter asks 3 BLACK BOSSES about the troublesome description of Viola’s character as ‘not traditionally-attractive’. Ellen Pompeo, with all the Caucasity she was born with and primacy to speak on Black issues as conferred by Black dick, spoke FIRST saying SHE didn’t have a problem with it as long as...blah, blah bullspit! You can tell some juicy bit was deleted, but Viola deftly answered, Kerry chimed in. Ellen burst into tears and left the room! Becky-ass Bitch! Read it below (I would love to hear what these Black women said to get her all-together!) Mostly, I thank the reporter for leaving in her hissy fit, white fragility and salty white tears!

I think the three shows and their three leads illustrates that Shonda had to become “Shonda” before she could dare to front shows with Kerry and Viola. Nevermind that Kerry was slaying in film roles for Oscar bait at the time and that Viola is, well, Viola “We’re not worthy of such greatness” Davis—network (and non-network) television will always be quicker to support a show centered around a white, albeit lesser-known, actor.

Awesome, they really taught Nazi Pompeo a lesson. Hopefully, she’ll never speak out about these types of issues again.

I haven’t been able to make it through the full video to even comment on Pompeo because I’m still stuck on Gina Rodriguez stating that black actresses make more $$ than Asian & Latina actresses. Where did she get those metrics? She is lucky that social media is going gaga over Pompeo or she would be getting an earful.

Regarding Pompeo, I agree with your statement that black women have been shouting about diversity and inclusion for ages. We get ignored & told we are playing the race card but folks react different & listen when comes from somebody white. Same old shit, just a different day

It comes down to volume. “Black movies” with black women in them make more simply because they are in more productions. For every Jennifer Lopez or Lucy Liu, there are probably 100's of bit parts for Asian women and Latinas so they obviously earn less.

If black women were paid in proportion to their contribution, the claim wouldn’t seem so dubious but Viola Davis acknowledges that the wage gap has affected her and we know of Octavia Spencer getting cheated too.

Here is Ellen, getting praised for performing an impression of just being a decent human being.

That’s more like it. Performative allyship bores me.

She went out over her way to not say white in this recent interview. When you combine that with her considering the word white to be hurtful in the past Twitter exchange, she’s pretty much Emma Stone in “The Help.”
