    This is completely insane.

These people need to start getting fined for false-alarm calls to the cops.

Does anyone have a sense of whether:

      • These incidences have gotten more prevalent, or
      • We’re hearing about them (reporting them) more often?

No clue, doesn’t matter. It needs to be punished. It’s a waste of time/money/resources at best, and endangering people’s lives far too often.

The only difference between this and swatting is that we usually know who makes these unnecessary 911 calls.

“Hello police. Yes. I heard him loud and clear. He said that he ‘likes big butts and that he cannot lie’ everyone in the HOA knows that this is a non outdoor smoking community. Why he would be outside with cigarettes is beyond me. Please help”.

We all know by ‘big butts’ he’s definitely talking about that mary-juan-a I’ve been warned about. The Wacky Weed! The Devil’s Weed! He’s obviously a massive drug dealer!

Hello, police?  My neighbor is apparently stalking someone named Shawty.  Last seen wearing apple bottom jeans and fur lined boots.

The neighbor, naturally, faced no consquences for wasting police time.

Also nice to know that DA calls result in the cops arriving bristling with weaponry. Way to deescalate, Officers.

His neighbor basically SWATted him. I’m sure if these small town cops had a SWAT team and an AMRAP this would be a completely different story.

The largest union representing law enforcement officers can put out letters, statements and tweets about boycotting tennis shoes and hating beautiful Afros. And yet they can’t find the words to condemn the racist and bogus 911 calls that are wasting resources and and endangering the lives of their officers. This is what I call transparency in policing

Eddington says he walked around to the front of the house and discovered police with their guns drawn.

Cmon. Seriously? Is there no protocol on how to handle situations without a gun? If the cops are out there acting with a frontier justice mentality, what use are they? Just buy everyone a gun and say “good luck”. Cheaper than a salary and a pension for the doughnut vacuums.

That’s been my thing for a long time now. Why in sam-hill is it always the first choice to draw guns in any sort of situation involving cops (and let’s be honest here, this definitely happens to black people more than white)?? Freakin’ British cops don’t carry guns and they do alright in deescalating situations without them. Oh yeah, I know why, it’s because here in the USA, just about anyone could have a gun, because our laws are so lax. So it’s best to be ready to shoot! Now how could we remedy this? Oh yeah, stricter gun laws, perfect solution in my opinion! Oh, wait, guns are apparently a God-given write, that Jesus himself supports. /rant.

I mean, the call is so ironic because it's an even more perfect encapsulation of what Jay was rapping about than the actual story Jay told in the song.

How hard is minding one’s motherfucking business? How many ways and times do people have to be told to mind their own goddamn business? I guess more times than I’ve said it so long as the cops are willing to be certain people’s customer care service.

This is what happens when parents don’t tell their children to stay out of grown folks business. The children grow into adults who don’t understand boundaries and end up being adult tattle-tales.

I’m going to argue this man was not “Rapping while black”. He was, at best, reciting while black. But really, he was just talking to his brother while relaxing in the back yard enjoying a nice day.

You know, what everyone would like to do, and what most people do and not have the police called out on them.
