Quantum Jimmies of Pangaean Are Both Russled And Not RussledStephen A. Crockett Jr.

Trump has not personally visited any deployed troops since taking office.

Trump did not attend the WWI memorial in France.

Trump bashes the accomplishments of part military leaders with ease.

Anybody pushing Trump’s foreign policy points is working on their meth-addled lizard brain, and has no real interest in the safety of the USA or the maintenance or development of its military forces outside of look-at-me symbolism.

And yet he’ll tell you the military love him. He got them the biggest raise in years (well, congress did, but he signed it, so he claims it).

Not to mention he’s spending more on the military, which is counter to his “america first, we’re no longer the world’s policeman!” rhetoric.

But besides that, he might as well be pissing on veteran’s and the graves of veterans the way he treats them.

      Let’s also not forget:

Trump said he preferred soldiers who didn’t get caught, therefore pissing on POW’s.

Trump talked shit about a gold star family.

Trump talked shit about our NATO allies.

Trump has outright supported Russia despite them being our designated enemy since the late ‘40s.

Trump sent thousands of national guardsmen to the Mexico border while people were dying and needed help in California.

Trump has talked shit about the constitution despite his job being to uphold it and every military service member taking an oath to uphold it and protect it from enemies foreign and domestic.

And yet there’s plenty of military members that still support him.

My father’s a retired Air Force vet and sees the guys he worked with for over 20 years thumping their chests with Trump and he has no idea what the fuck they’re on about. He was literally trained to engage Russian forces, and now his former coworkers in the Air Force are happy with how Trump treats Russia.

      WHAT THE FUCK.

One has to wonder what it takes for republicans to actually turn on trump.

Christian conservatives call him the second coming, despite not being a man of faith (his 2 Corrinthians shows that, not to mention a complete lack of any pictures of him at a church), cheating on his wives, multiple divorces, complete lack of empathy (then again, most evangelicals seem to lack empathy also).

And supposedly the military types love him, despite ignoring the soldiers in the field, skipping important and solemn days of rememberance, rarely if ever visiting those returning through Dover (I’ve yet to hear him once going there except at the very beginning of his term). Despite his supposed bone spurs keeping him out of the service (that he doesn’t even remember).

This year, couldn’t be bothered to go to WWI memorial at US cemetery, then complains that his staff didn’t warn him that it would look bad (if you need people to tell you that not honoring the brave who’ve fallen so you can sit your ass on the white house toilet, you deserve to be dethroned by a military coup). Didn’t do anything when he returned from Europe for veteran’s days (made a lot of calls - good calls).

Trump likes the military because the military has all that fancy machinery that makes an impressive parade, like the ones Macron, Putin and Kim get. That’s it. He’ll use the military like he’ll use anyone or anything else, to get his way, regardless of the consequences.

...until one realizes this is a null set. They will never turn on him. He owns 30% of the GOP base forever. Even after he is dead they will still be his base, and they will still invoke his name for decades (See also: Reagan worship) because their belief and their faith are not rooted in anything resembling reality.

The only way the GOP is going to rid themselves of his specter is to splinter the party—and that, they will never do.

Well, unless it splinters itself. I would hazard a guess that there are somewhere some (R) that don’t believe in everything Trump represents. Wouldn’t know it from the current folks in Congress, though. Trump just steam-rolled them into hot asphalt when they went against him.

btw - “thousandaire who claims to be a billionaire” - LOL, classic.

Is there some way we could stop calling what Fox does as interviewing? They’re not interviewing him. They’re advancing his agenda. What they do is literally propaganda. It’s textbook. There is no conceptual or practical difference between Chris Wallace and Tokyo Rose.

No, there’s a difference. Wallace at least attempts to interview and get answers. What he doesn’t do much of is come back on such obvious stupidity.

But most on fox news never would have mentioned the former general in the first place, because it would be bad. Wallace got the question out, even after trump interrupted him a couple of times.

I disagree. Wallace serves up talking points to allow the president to ramble at will, and the “answers” he gets are a series of incoherent sentence fragments that serve as a valid response any more. Not once does Wallace seriously press the president on a single thing that spews from the orifice on his face. It’s a puff piece. Pure PR. It’s the president’s way to feel like he’s tackling the hard-hitting issues, but since he’s such a weak, craven creature, this sort of “opposition” is about all his tender fee-fees can handle.

The president would cry and flounce out of the room if he were ever faced with a serious interview, because that would be too close to actually doing his fucking job—and it’s clear this president is allergic to work.

But if your statement is true, the definition of the word interview has changed dramatically since I first learned it.

Donald Trump is not a “white Lavar Ball”. I generally enjoy Lavar Ball. I used to enjoy Donald Trump. Sure he was a self promoting clown but he was basically harmless and seemed to be in on the joke.

All of that ended when Trump started peddling his birther conspiracies, racist claptrap, xenophobic fear mongering and everything else his campaign turned into.

In retrospect, Trump and his father had a long history of housing discrimination and Trump’s vile history with the central park five meant he was never harmless. But I didn’t know about that at the time.

Lavar Ball on the other hand is still harmless.

    To add to your list:

    4. Can’t take criticism

    5. Will debase, demean, attack critics

    6. Will declare any critic incompetent and unworthy of praise.

    7. Will show love to anyone who says nice things about him

    As examples:

    - Fake News

    - Failing New York Times

    - Witch Hunt

    - I like my heroes not to be captured

    - What took him so long to get bin laden

    - Low Energy

    - Lyin’ Ted Cruz (that’s a good one!)

    - Good people on both sides.

Donald Trump (A parody; to the tune of Ariel, by Stateless)

Or in this case, (Deep) Stateless

    Deep in a bunker underground
There is bad hair that makes no sound
Visible tweets explode with scorn and
Rapidly stir up the howling storm

Donald Trump; there was a fire in your house they say
    Administration all engulfed in flames
There was a fire in your house they say
They say you’ve been dancing with the devil

You lie down in the tanning booth
A waste of time; won’t gain no youth
    Every insult bursts into flame
And the wind blows it back again

Donald Trump; there was a fire in your house they say
    Administration all engulfed in flames
There was a fire in your house they say
They say you’ve been dancing with the devil

    Donald Trump has disappointed
How could support be so naive
    Dancing with the devil
    Maybe the devil’ll take him
Or maybe he’ll just choose to leave
    Dancing with the devil
Donald Trump, there was a fire in your house they say
    Administration all engulfed in flames
There was a fire in your house they say
They say you’ve been dancing with the devil

Also note how trump stopped the question almost immediately to interject “Clinton fan” not once, but at least twice. Because, you know, criticism coming from someone who didn’t vote for you doesn’t count.

Not that he would even know he was a clinton fan. In his head, you’re either a real american or a clinton/obama lackey.

Oh, and he won 2016 by a landslide. Unbelievably large record win!
