      So tired of these straw man arguments. I mean, seriously: “... The ideal liberal plantation image of a black man...”? Dude, that’s YOUR side’s image; the LIBERAL ideal “image of a black man” had the big desk in the White House for eight years.

      Really have to wonder what would happen if any of the regressives ever tried a "steel man" argument; basically setting up the opposing side's _strongest_ argument and then trying to dismantle THAT. Probably change sides, is my hope...

      As a Detroiter, it’s disgusted me to see that sellout’s name on a school, regardless of his accomplishments. I’m glad to hear that someone finally decided to get it the hell off there.

      They should come up with a entirely new name, or just change it back to Ethelene Crockett (which I think was the original name of the school.)

    Do we really need to scrub every persons name we have a beef with? MLK, Bill Clinton, and JFK were all adulterers. Kennedy pimped out his 19 year old intern. So was FDR and LBJ.  Who are the Saints that have nothing people can complain about?

      Why can’t there be a John Wilkes Booth school of Acting and Firearms?

      Frankly Carson was only famous because he performed surgeries that others wouldn’t do and managed to fail at several of them. The one thing about surgeons is their success stories tend to tell everyone they know about how well it went for them; their failures often get a brief funeral service and maybe a settlement with a hush clause.

    I’m of a mixed opinion on this one.

    Ordinarily I have no use for any accolades for any of the minions of the lazy racist orange santorum-covered enemy of the people.

    However, this school was named for Ben Carson from when, and based on when, he was a prominent neurosurgeon.

    I don’t know what to think.

    Carson has proved that a talented brain surgeon is a lot like those teenagers back in the Blackberry days that could text hundreds of words a minute— yeah, that sort of speed and accuracy is definitely a skill, but it doesn’t mean you’re good at anything else.
