    We, obviously, need to know if large numbers of people, for whatever reason, are going to be on public roadways or public spaces, so that we may ensure the safety and rights of those who have gathered as well as of the members of the public around them.

    I call bullshit. If any of these groups were planning to have a rally or a March they would have to get a permit to do so. At that time wouldn’t each event have to provide a general idea how many people to expect? I was under the impression that COINTEL pro was over. Black folk be careful because your cookout guest list is also being monitored

    Unless they are also watching white supremacist groups in the same way, you know, those groups that actually promote hate instead of inclusion, then this response isn’t just non-credible, it’s a flat out lie.

    Is there any way to get information from them on the criteria used to prompt this kind of attention from them? Hard to see how this would not be in the public interest.

    Did they monitor all those fucking tea party organizations during Obama?

    I’m not surprised that the cops monitor people and don’t make the distinction who is good or bad. Their distinction is us and them and their computer skills are only good enough to get the job done rather than staying on top of technology.

    From personal experience lots of good/bad (depending on their opinion) people gathering can block traffic and make everyone’s life miserable in the pursuit whatever noble cause these protesters seek. I wish I could get this kind of crowd information so I can avoid people, regardless of their reasons for gathering.
