Let’s discuss something far, far more important: what in holy hell makes Jack Dorsey think that he looks good with that nose ring?

Thank you! I saw that ridiculous nosering that belongs on 22-year-old-1990s ME and immediately scrolled to the comments to say as much.

While I still have my nose pierced 23 years later, I haven’t worn a dainty ring like that since I was roughly 25...a 25-year-old moderately cute GIRL at that.

To get back to the topic at hand, I also don’t know what #onhere means, but I only use the Twitters to love on my favorite people.

1992 called and they want their nose piercings back.

If someone doesn’t build a platform to facilitate the great Twitter exodus by the end of the year...

You might be interested in this platform that wants to replace Twitter called Mastodon.

There’s a guy on twitter - Rooo may recall his name/handle - that I saw once who says he has a twitter replacement. A Black Man and it is in Beta and invitation only at this point. He regularly blasts Jack and will block you if you ask to join. I’m sorry I can’t recall its name or his but apparently it is supposed to be ready in a year or so?

This gave me a good laugh. I’m not on twitter so I have never seen that hashtag, but I totally got it when used in context. So I thought it was funny that someone whose job it is to know what stuff on that platform means was a buffoon about it. That’s a complex job fail right there.

This reminds me of when one of my (Latina) co-worker last year was explaining to me what black twitter is—and wrongly telling me it was actually a separate platform. I don’t live in a hole, I know what it is. And then I told her that I didn’t need to be on twitter to say with confidence that she didn’t know what the hell she was talking about. We still laugh about that.

I still don’t get #OnHere, even when used in this context. Educate me. (yes, I read the article, still slow on the uptake.)

OT, everytime I look at Chelsea, I always think that somewhere in her family tree there’s a black person, especially the older she gets. But about her experience about being Bill’s daughter/campaigning..... oh yea, folks were horrible to her in the press and her mom.

Yet, I like what she had to say about it all...that something must be “broken” in them.

Hilariously enough, this comes at a time when Jack has been heavily criticized for not acting fast enough to remove racist abusers from his platform.

That “time” has been really really long

The rumor is that he’s what some Splinter-y so-called progressives called “faschy-curious” ... which one could already have told by all the verified white nationalist types he leaves on the platform while POC and women who complain of floods of racist & sexist harassment have their accounts blocked or silenced or tampered with for reporting said harassment, as well as the apparently torturous trouble he had actually kicking Alex Jones off the platform for traumatizing Sandy Hook victims (as well as generally being a trashfire human as per his communications).

But yes - in the face of all that, the fetishizing adds an extra special layer of creepy for sure.

My gut tells me @Jack’s relationship with “Black Culture” and “Black People” is about the same as Evangelical Christians relationship with Israel and Jews.

You don’t have to tell me what that means. I’m #woke (been since 8am this morning, actually). You hate it when people try to jump on a bandwagon without understanding what it actually means to people, #MeToo!

I’m just glad #NotAllWhitePeople don’t wear nose rings. It usually just looks like a white guy trying to pretend he’s hip.

Why has he thought in the last few years that looking like a whole, entire hobo is the best look for his brand? I don’t get it; I’m feeling attacked. lol

Goddamnit, I just choked on my sip of iced coffee.

      THERE’S MOCHA UP MY NOSE.

You are a mean. An unrepentant mean. I should know this, by now.

Look, these days, the kids - I’m one of ‘em, at least literally - call this body or appearance-shaming or victim blaming. I call it knowing how to represent oneself, and being cognizent of how you represent yourself, in any given situation.

How Jack thinks turning up in Congress looking like a dusty-ass drifter - a hard-life vagrant who has seen some shit, man - is the best look for his brand is beyond the realm of my understanding. If any of our asses turned up in Congress with a nappy fuckin’ afro, we’d be dragged to high heaven.

So, Twitter’s thinking about a feature that’s literally existed for 30 years in the instant messaging space.  Wow, that nose ring is really working its magic.

He loves black culture, but does he care about black people?
