    Dewayne Scott, a member of the Auburn Alumni Association’s Board of Directors and founder of the War Eagle Society, the university’s black alumni group, told The Root: “I feel the banners while even being used in the past are in poor taste and are beneath the character of a Auburn man or Auburn woman.”

    Not sure what he means by “beneath the character of a Auburn man or Auburn woman.” A simple query into the Google machine rendered these responses replete with *gasps* incidents of racist behavior. At a school in Alabama no less.

    Seems kinda like racism is well within the character traits of an Auburn man or woman. I’m on the phone consulting with the Committee for Racist Bullshit Identification, hold on.....they said they would like to see pictures where the fraternities have used similar tactics with PWI’s prior to this one. That might show that this is a universal thing for them, as they attempted to establish. Until then....what’s that....could you repeat...? Oh, ok, got it. They said until then, assume it’s some racist bullshit.

      Dang that’s my fraternity too. Did not go to Auburn (CSU Chico, go Wildcats) and would like to think our chapter wouldn’t do something that hateful.

      FWIW Sigma Pi Chico is the least “frattiest” frat at Chico and my big bro was/is gay.

      ShabASS strikes me as hotep. And probably has no degree. While it maybe correct about pointing out the data, he might want to look at the underlying factors for the low grad rate. Otherwise he played right to the man’s plan of stereotyping blacks being intellectually incapable.

      Poor people don’t graduate for financial reasons more than anything else.

      ASU is servicing poor, likely first in their family to go to college kids - the graduation rate for them at ANY school is low.

    It’s definitely true that you do see this kind of trash talk between predominately white schools, but it’s usually classist as hell. So it would not take much brain power to figure out that against an HBCU it’s racist as hell.

    Any adult should know that. There are some things you just know. I mean in my white family, toddler pulling themselves on things are referred to as “monkeys.” However, everyone, even my 94 year old grandma, knows that you don’t say that about a black child. This seems in that category.

    Plus, I’m not really sure that classism is an especially good defense for racism.

    Yes, this was obviously racist, but it’s also the absolute fucking definition of “punching down,” and it’s becoming more and more prevalent among these little shitstains. Alabama State’s funding, both academic and athletic, is orders of magnitude smaller than Auburn’s. Their football team was likely only there for the paycheck in the first damn place. And of course it was Black Alumni Weekend. Let one of these little bitch-made frat boys wave that shit in Bo Jackson’s face next time.
