This is weaponizing one priority (the ADA) against another (the enfranchisement of the right to vote). This is literally divisive and will be used against this county in the future.

Yep. The fact that the ADA itself is under attack by Republicans, at the same time it’s being used as an excuse to disenfranchise voters, clearly shows that these bastards don’t give a shit about either the disabled or black people.

They are scum, they don’t give a shit about anybody, to even have an ounce of thought that they do is a waste of time.

Get out and vote and stop all this unlawful and unjustifiable bullshit to silence people.

They’re not even hiding the shit anymore. When Caucasian-Americans officially become the “minority” here, I expect their racist/xenophobic political representatives to run for office in full Klan regalia.

This is evidence of sustained pressure working; learn that lesson and learn well.

BTW, in a county this black, there is no reason why the Board of Elections should even be one considering this. Please vote in local elections. I don’t know how county government works in Georgia, but a county 62% black (and only 36% white) should have a county government that is at least majority-black and/or Democratic. How there is a government in which something like this could even have been brought up as an option is a scathing indictment of the local politics of the place.

Hold up...You don’t do voting in each city or town in the county, that is messed up.  Here we vote at the local high school.  Next town over has polling places in three different places over town. I couldn’t imagine having to travel out of my town to vote.

Because we stil live in an era in which southern countries find so many fucking ways to keep black people from the voting booth.

Is there not a group that organizes volunteer labor to at least temporarily make those sites compliant? Putting in a temporary ramp/handrails or, in more extreme cases, renting a portable elevator? Even with the relatively happy news of polling locations not getting closed down, unless I’ve missed something, they’re still not ADA compliant...
