    ok. I don’t support the death penalty on principal but even if I did California doesn’t execute people so I’m not sure what the point of adding that charge is.

      Good question. I guess they just want everyone to know that, in lieu of hate crime charges, they are still taking this really, really seriously.

      In all seriousness though, they haven’t executed anyone in over a decade, but legally they still can execute people. Maybe being on death row but not knowing whether you’ll be snuffed out or rot in jail first is the kind of torture this asshole deserves.

      I know that’s fucked up, but it’s hard to muster much sympathy here.

      Eventually the DA has to run for reelection. This is either to appear “tough on crime” or to preempt their opponent from calling them “soft on crime.”

    The never ending double standard and hypocrisy from trumpers and the right could not be more glaringly obvious, irony perpetually lost on them.

    Please, racists and white supremacists, all we want is for you to own up to your beliefs and stop being cowards for once in your life. It would make navigating life better for everyone if we could just dismantle the veil of equality. Our kids need to know the world for what it is, and we need to stop wishing for love from those who are incapable of ever giving it.
