      “Whataboutism” needs to get called out here just like in Trumpworld. This monster murdered that poor girl whether he pulled the trigger or not. That’s it. That’s all. They need to put his ass in the deepest, darkest corner of whatever prison they send him to and leave him there forever. Zero sympathy. Bye.

    Hadiya’s death drew nationwide attention for her connection to the Obamas. For many, she came to symbolize the extent of Chicago’s gun violence problem, though many have rightly questioned the political motivations behind such attention.

    Unfortunately the political motivation helped in this case. CPD is shitty when it comes to actually solving a majority of these shootings. I personally know of two cases where they know the killers but hide behind all sorts of legalese as a reason not to close the case.

      So they claim. In one case, they know exactly who did it, have all the proof to bring to the DA but but but claim they don’t have enough. *throws hands up*

    Glad the young girl is receiving some justice, though it’s too late for her.

    I wish the white driver who got off for this exact crime was behind bars as well.

    Depends on whether he knew ahead of time or not.

    Regardless consistent application of the law would be nice.
