Mr. Arrona-Lara, a citizen of Mexico illegally residing in the United States...

“He’s never been in trouble, he’s never done any crime,” she told ABC.

I don’t think that’s how it works. Maybe one of these days, we’ll actually get around to changing our immigration laws because what we have going on now isn’t working.

For the 40-50% of undocumented immigrants who are visa overstays, that actually is how it works. Overstaying your visa is not a crime, and it’s also not a crime to be present in the United States without authorization.

Unless you were commenting on how ICE goes after people even if they haven’t committed any crimes, which, yeah, unfortunately true every since Trump reversed the Obama administration’s prosecutorial discretion policies (which were closer to a policy of “only go after people who’ve committed crimes here in the US).

Lol the irony of this statement, and the fact that it can be said without a trace of awareness, is sadly funny.

This is the real issue. We can’t get congress to put together an immigration plan that is actually fair, balanced, and works. It’s either let everyone in all the time, or else lock up every person who decides not to wait in a 20 year limbo and crosses over.

Well a basic question where is the murder warrant?

I seen news reports that quote Mexican officials that state they don’t what murder warrant ICE is talking about.

He should sue them for slander (can you sue the gov’t for slander?) if it turns out that they falsely said he was wanted for murder.

Yeah I’m sure that’ll go far in today’s Justice system.

Sorry, I’m not buying it. ICE is known to make up stories, as well as just get people mixed up (because, you know, they all look the same and their names are all a jumble of letters that sound weird).

You know, like how they wouldn’t release a child from detention because they claimed his tattoos implied he was a gangsta type, ignoring the fact he had no tattoos.

He did have tattoos, however. They said “La Raza” which means “The People” in Spanish. He was simply identifying with the Hispanic culture that calls itself that, and of course ICE assumed it was gang related.

The fact that they put out this statement AFTER people were like “hey why did you leave a pregnant woman at a gas station?” just shows what monsters ICE are. Even if the murder warrant turns out to be real (I am waiting to see the proof), there was NO REASON they couldnt have made sure this woman wasn’t SAFELY transported to the fucking hospital.

Apparently if you can’t show identification to ICE they can arrest you for being undocumented? Because that’s literally what they did.

Glad I’m white, because you know they only do this with latinxs.

My God. I am grateful that both mother and baby made it safely to the hospital and survived the delivery and postpartum.  There was a very high risk of a stillborn &/or maternal death in this case. ICE are monsters.

Stop serving ICE, everywhere. No healthcare, no restaurants, no car sales/repair, no movies, nada.  “This facility is an ICE-Free Zone, and all ICE employees are not welcome. If you are an ICE employee, please write a five page explanation of your role in harming humans, and what reparations you are going to make once the Tribunal is convened. We will take your essay under advisement.”
