    I just want to note that this is more than just historic. Simone Biles’ dominance of gymnastics is absolute. Her only legitimate opponents are the immutable forces of gravity and time. I feel required on principle to allow for the possibility of someone eventually matching her accomplishments, but barring advanced cybernetics I think Biles may well be the greatest female gymnast that will ever exist.

      Agreed. She’s a once in a lifetime athlete. I won’t compare her to others but someday we will compare others to her “[athlete] is the Simone Biles of [sport]"

      She belongs to a special category of superlative athletes, like LeBron James or Babe Ruth, or Serena Williams. People who transform the normal act of the sport into something transcendent, but can also make it look so easy.

    As a gym fan, let me just explain something to y’all -

    Simone is better now than she was in Rio! She just came back to the gym last Fall and last night’s US Nationals was only her SECOND competition since taking TWO(2) years off!

    Just to give you an example, remember the awesome first tumbling pass of her Rio floor routine? Well, that pass has now been pushed to the end of the routine. Why? Because, Simone is doing a much more difficult and amazing tumbling run in the beginning of her routine. It makes no sense how she can take off all this time and her body just bounces back (and she’s even better now that she’s a little taller)!

    Simone is a once in a generation athlete. If you are not watching her during non-Olympic years, you are missing out on history.
